For about 12 years I have been using Bushmaster parts, with no issues.
With that in mind, I entered a trade with a member here, my JLD PTR-91 for his Bushy XM15-E2S, SER-XX9879.
Several months went by before I could get to the range to zero it and shoot it. My set-up was a ARMS #38, 22m68 and an Aimpoint CompC.
At the range I could not zero the rifle, I kept running out or right windage. When I compensated for the lack of right windage, it shot well. I got back home, and read the psots here about the canted FSB's. I then could plainly see that mine was canted to the right and figured that I'd call Bushmaster.
I did and was completely honest with your Customer Serivce rep. I told him that I got this on a trade and that it has been unaltered, with the exception if the ARMS and Aimpoint. I was told that if I was not the original owner and could not produce an reciept, that I was outa luck. I was shocked but said ok.
So I tried 3 more times and was told the same thing.
This was not something that I did, it was wrong from the factory. So because I did not want to pass off to another person a defective gun, I replaced the FSB with a PRI clamp on unit.
After driving the taper pins out and removing the FSB, I could see that the pins were badly drilled.
With the money now spent on it, I plan on keeping it, but it will be my last Bushmaster.
I'm very dissapointed in Bushmaster's handling of this and I cannot, in the future, buy anymore Bushmaster products. I will not recommend Bushmaster either. Which is a shame, Bushmaster has many fine products.
