I called at one point because my order was taking longer than the 5 business days, Without going into to many details, Earl was fairly rude and apparently doesn't understand that there are more than 5 business days in a 10 day period of time, but hey, apparently I am a dummy for calling after 8 business days to get an update when it said it would be shipped in 5 business days. "Well, it did say 5 business days." I was not annoyed with the time delay, that the nature of the business right now. But the attitude man....
So I bought this product, along with there keymod QD sling mount, the latter of which is very nice!
This bipod mount, could be amazing, but one issue ruins the entire product, as shipped. Long story short, the included snap ring is garbage, and needs to be addressed ASAP.
I work with Snap Rings/Grip Rings daily at my job. I know how to install them, and I am very aware of how to install them without over spreading them to a point where they will not return to shape and hold true.
That being said, the snap ring supplied is so ridiculously thin, I would not trust it even if it had not bent when trying to install it.
The correct way to install a snap ring is to put it over the shaft, then spread it as little as possible to get it over the lip and into the groove.(Dirty....)
Even doing this, the included snap ring bent in the middle. I did not take the time to measure it, but its somewhere between 10 and 20 thousands thick.
After installing it the first time, with just a little force, it would push back into the keymod hole and into the rail. At the time, I was like whatever, I'll fix it later with something better, as the bipod will hold it tight anyways, and I wont be dismounting my bipod anytime soon.
When I went put my Noveske NSR back on(you have to remove your rail system to install this bipod adapter), The adapter ended up directly under my Seekins Adjustable gas block. This was a no-go. The NSR is very small in diameter, and the bipod mount was too thick to fit under the gas block. This is not Impact Weapons problem, and would not be an issue on any other keymod rail that I know of.
After taking the bipod mount back off and moving to a different slot, the snap ring was so warped it would not even hold the mount in with the slightest bit of pressure. It was just too bent.
Impact, if your going to use such a crappy thin snap ring, include a few extras at the least. Not just one. These are at best one time use.
If they included a better snap ring, this would be hands down the best(IMHO) keymod bipod mount. Source your self a good 3/8" Snap/Grip ring if you plan on using this product.
