Has anyone got any numbers they could post on the actual weights you've come up with for a 6920?
I have got what I have previously found to be a pretty accurate digital scale that always is within just a couple ounces of any high dollar calibrated scale.
This scale is just always VERY close to actual weight. As stated, it's accuracy is sually within 2 ounces.
SO, the weights I'm coming up with are 6lbs 13oz WITHOUT MAG.
7lbs 1oz WITH 30rd PMAG (unloaded/empty)
This weight includes a MIAD grip (with nothing inside the storage compartment), and also a set of KNS pins.
ALSO, I have REMOVED the sling swivel under the FSB.
I guarantee that the MIAD grip and KNS pins are barely adding even an ounce or two, and that is OFFSET anyhow, by the factor Colt sling swivel being removed.
SO, I had always seen the advertised weight of a 6920 as being "5.65lbs" (or about 5lbs 10-11oz)
????? Is this just a misprint I've always seen? I'm 99% sure that I have always seen this "5.65lb" rating as being for the 16" 6920, and NOT for the 14.5" 6921.
However, EVEN IF I was mistakingly referencing the weight of the 14.5" carbine, I still guarantee you guys that the 1.5" of bbl weight difference does NOT weigh in at a full pound or better! (remember, my 6920 is coming in at 6lbs 13oz, and Colt advertised the weight to be 5lbs 11oz)
Is there something I'm missing here??? Has anyone else ever seen that "5.65lb" advertised weight, or am I going crazy?
What weights have you guys seen ADVERTISED, and what weights have you guys come up with for the bare carbine???
(I am also interested in knowing any weights you guys have come up with, with different accessories too, just as a side note, if anyone has such info)
