I will be moving from a BM 16" w/Phantom, to a BM 20" or 24" ???, and I have a few (long-winded!)questions.
1)Between the Phantom and the Y-Comp, I notice that one is a 'Flash Suppressor' while the other is a 'Muzzle Brake'.
Is the difference really so self-explanatory?
I will be building a 'all in one' rifle on a pre-ban reciever. A bit of target, a bit of tactical, etc. I am guessing that I would be better served with a Phantom (keep the flash to a minimum), but would a Y-Comp be more practical (Anything to help my 'aim'...)
In your expert opinions, which would I be better served with?
2) I have pretty much settled on a 20" barrel. What would a 24" barrel get me? Does the longer barrel keep the muzzle velocity higher? Or is the longer barrel something for the varmint/competition crowd, not for us plinkers?
3) I am looking awful hard at getting a 20" NMT A3 upper. Then I see the 20" V Match upper.
For no other reason then 'it looks damn cool', I have been thinking about getting that instead.
Is there any particular reason I shouldn't? I am not much of an iron-sights kind of guy, so the lack of those doesn't bother me. Are the aluminum handguards more susceptable to damage? I am a bit rough on my toys...
Well, thats all the questions I have, for now! Any insight or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
