That's why its in Scottsdale, if you want to sell expensive things then you build your store in a place where people live who buy expensive things. Can't hate a snake for being a snake. Besides the fact that if i get helped its buy a stuck up know nothing brat who try's to tell me about what works. 9 out of 10 gun stores are like that. The last time I was at shooters world looking at a Walther P22 some guy behind the counter volunteered to show me how to use it even though I didn't ask him too or agree to him showing me it. And when he is disassembling it he literally said this to me " For this part you need to put a little M-A-N on it." the urge to punch him in the face was overwhelming. Also if you guys have ever been to shootersworld there is a guy there who has grey slicked back hair he is ALWAYS there behind the counter. That guy always stares at me like I'm the biggest fuckin dick head in the world. I don't like him looking at me with his cold dead eyes. I agree with you though SGC sucks. |

Personally never had a problem with SGC. By the way....using your logic...Take a look,
www.gunbroker.com Type in bodyguard 380 $399 for the handgun from anyone of the above listings + $15-$25 shipping + $10-$30 transfer fee....price appears to be inline according to my calculations. |

I've never purchased a gun there for their listed price. If you walk in there with cash they will deal. That is how I got a Colt commander they had listed for $899 + tax for about $850 out the door with tax. |

What is the polytech campus? I'm in the 348th formerly of the Deer Valley unit but they moved us out to Buckeye while we were in AFG, I think they knew all the badass's were off fighting a war and all that was left of us were our rear det. fags. So they knew they could push them around and send them out to Buckeye, apparently they were right. All of our equipment is at Papago though so we are trying to move back the unit back towards the east side or at least back into Deer Valley. Sorry whenever someone asks me about my unit I use the opportunity to vent. |

Its right off miller, I go shooting on my lunch breaks and after final formation every drill day, I never got to do that while we were in Phoenix. You said signal, are you commo? I know we have a commo slot open right now if you ever wanted to try a line unit. We kick the tires and light the fires, and every once in a while you get to shoot at something or someone. |

I am TACSAT I don't think i could be put in a line unit, plus my unit kicks ass. I have to get out for good in a year and a half any way i won't be able to be in the fbi and the reserves. Its to bad if i was staying in I would be dropping my warrant packet.

Want to know why I think they're tools sometimes? Oh you do, let me tell you one example.
I had an employee tell me that a certain pistol didn't exist. Little did he know that I happened to have that very "non existent" pistol in my pants. Also never never let them offer you their opinions on optics. Never. |

I just recently canceled my membership. Tim next door is much friendlier, and much more knowledgeable.

Never had a problem with SGC. They had a smoking deal going on SR-15's for a day or two (was something like $1700 NIB) and they give me a 10% LE discount.
I bought a SCAR 16S there too. I always ask for the same sales guy. Don't remember his name but he's a younger guy but VERY nice and helpful. I'm pretty picky about my rifles so he hauled out about five different SR-15's for me to inspect before I settled on one. Then when I bought my SCAR we went into the "members lounge" area with with the leather sofas and stuff and he brought out almost every SCAR they had in stock so I could look over each one and pick the one with the best coloring because the FDE versions are all over the board (some are green, some are gold, some are tan etc.) The SCAR costed a little more at SGC than it would have on gunbroker because of their sticker price and tax but my LE discount basically covered the tax and I didn't mind paying a little extra to actually pick out what I wanted to buy instead of ordering online and hoping it was in good shape when it showed up at my FFL. |

Always been my experience that they will pricematch. Unlike other stores, they typically have what I'm looking for in stock and they have a lot of stuff to look at. To a certain degree, you will always get some uninformed employees working at gun stores. I've learned to ignore those that don't know what they're talking about and buy what I need without any deep involved employee intervention no matter what store I'm at. SGC is a big operation in a pricey area of town with lots of bills to pay. Looking at the price and prices on gunbroker, I don't see the issue. If you can find it cheaper elsewhere in the valley, they should pricematch it, or you can always buy it elsewhere. Personally I like SGC, but I wait for them to have deals that I want. Bought two like new police trade-in Glocks a few months back for $335 each - nobody else in the valley offers a deal like that. Cheapest I see them elsewhere is around $400.

Which PD do you work for? I guarantee thats why they will treat you better. my worst experience was when i was looking at 10mm's and two sales persons were directly on the other side of the counter having a little conversation rather than helping me. The Only time i ever got any notice was when I brought out my FN FiveseveN on their range, but that gun usually turns heads. And if i ever was to buy a glock it would be from Glockmeister in chandler, when they do your MIL/LE discount they actually do it right and file the paperwork with glock. You get the whole Blue label kit any model you want for 425. |

I was wanting to buy a pistol, stood there watching two of the sales guys chat for 15 min, finally pulled out $700 in cash, put it down on the counter with my hand on it, but still visible to them. THEN waited another 5 minutes before finally saying fuck it and going to another shop where I ended up paying less when they saw I had cash. Most gun shops piss me off so bad I have to go out and burn some rounds to clam down after dealing with them. Maybe thats their master plan. |

You've just described nearly every single gun store I've ever been in in my entire life. This is not unique to SGC. The only exception to this is usually the tiny stores that have no choice but to help you. Glockmeister is a great example of that - you ring the buzzer just to get in the door, they have no choice but to ask you what you need/want |

SGC has a nice range, the target track is programmable, you can work on new technique... you can preset exposure/conceal times and randomize between presets. It's a very advanced range that can be setup for more than just daily shoot n shoot... I don't go there to buy the gear or interact with staff... just to shoot on occasion, as a change of pace to Caswells.
Caswells is my second home, I have literally grown up in that range, I am die hard Caswells supporter right down to my UFI M4 Logo hat worn daily, bought to replace the one I already wore out.... I Heart Caswell's since 1991. I buy my guns from them, my gear, everything but ammo... fired my first gun there at age 8, took my NRA Safety course at age 12, IDPA Friday Night Comps at age 15.... instructor JR took me under his wing, helped me get prepped for comps local and national, helped me out for years... if you ever get a chance go take a class with JR, take a fundamentals class ;) Did my CCW with him at Caswells when I turned 21.... I love that range.... If I ever win the lottery, or make a shit load of money from my computer nerding... I will buy$ the Caswells and re-vamp the place to show love, and Arfcom members get discount ;) And that's really the only draw back ... the facility is older, the range is static and often 1 dimensional. That is my ONLY bitch... oh and lane 11 is cold.... I wear a hoodie so it's NP... but some may not like that. SGC offers me a little change up to the norm. Shooting paper people, T12's, and Zombies all day is awesome... but they don't move, they don't pivot, they just sit there n get shot up.... -.- If Caswell's had better track system it would be the ultimate little home town range... already is, best around, but Ultimate status would be easily obtained with just a slight face lift. The prices are pretty standard, the selection is not the biggest, but it's mostly the good stuff... I really dig that range. SGC's range prices are same as Caswells, 15 bucks, rent guns if you need, same in house ammo on rented gun policy... I liked about SGC they make noobs watch safety video and sign papers.... Took 3 noob friends shooting a few weeks ago, SGC staff was totally cool, showed them endless lists of guns, all the MW2 stuff of course.... the staff members were helpful, told the noobs all about the guns, explained shit that would have taken me hours to explain later not having props to physically demo attributes and features.... I really have nothing bad to say about the place. Next door to it is US Auto Weapons.... another candy shop of gun times and expensive habits. Need a Barrett!? They got you covered... M60?! Yep, got that too... Caswells..... FTW -AOS |

I always laugh when I read these. Maybe people who complain about these shops are overlooking the obvious.... that you are an Ahole or that the other customers are cooler...LOL.... 50 percent of the population is absolutely worthless to me the least I have to complain about is gunstores.

I have can't understand people like you. Go ahead and dislike gun a store, tell your buddies that its a real dump, full of idiot clerks and and their prices are inflated. Fine, but to go on the internet and use works like hate is a little ridiculous over something so trivial, its not like their gunsmith broke you Colt Python and they are screwing you on it. Are you really that upset that SGC is selling a gun that you can't even find on the internet for much less than what SGC is asking? It is a brand new gun, most places don't have them in stock and you would be hard pressed to pick on up from anywhere at less than the total that SGC is selling it for (I think) and because of a $20-40 markup on a gun you hate them. I know when I go into the gun club they have lots of toys that I might not ever be able to afford for me to ogle and droll over. That is part of their business plan, having things in stock that don't move very quickly, are not in great demand and won't be found at most of their competitors. You want a 50 cal Barret, SGC probably has one, lots of class 3 goodies, SGC has those too, nice custom 1911s, long range rigs, upper crust piston AR15's, SGC has more of that type of stuff than any where else in town that I can think of (the place next door is very cool too). And somehow with their massive facility and millions in inventory sitting around they manage to sell glocks for $500-530 bucks, pretty much within 20 bucks of the lowest price in town (and you can shoot right after you buy if you want, only two other places in town where that is possible). How can you not like about this place at least a little bit? There are lots of gun nuts all around the country that would kill to have SGC and US Autoweapons in their area? The only thing that pisses me off about SGC is that it is often busy and the lanes can be full at the oddest times, and their Magtech ammo isn't cheap enough for me. If i still lived in N. Scottsdale I would still have a membership. Geez |

I don't get this one either, unless I am missing something. They are selling a hard to find gun for MSRP? Boo hoo.
Their gunsmithing department fucked up one of my guns and then they lied to me about having to hold an incoming transfer for three days to "inspect it". I bashed them on the internet for both instances (after taking good care of me on the first) causing me to get banned from there (along with some sarcasm about Jen that didn't go over well). Even I don't dislike them after all that. They serve a niche, have great specials, and the cleanest indoor range on the planet. It's a great place to take a first time shooter. If I hadn't been a douchebag 3 years ago, I would still be going there occasionally, although have no use for a membership to an indoor range. Although I never felt 100% safe on their range with all of the idiots that go there. Watched a guy continually attempt to fire 9mm rounds out of a 40S&W and also watched a guy load the "bullets" (components only) he bought from Sportsmans in his 38 Special (minus brass, powder, and primer). |

I consider living in a place that has the SGC and US Auto Weapons in the same strip mall as a few restuarants to be a wonderful treat. Both places are good. They are for profit gun stores, so take them for what they are worth. But two well stocked stores next to each other, Wow!
|
|
The fact is not that the gun is over priced a little the fact is they are lying to people saying they are selling it for 150 under msrp which would be 249 dollars. On the other hand US auto weapons next door is 10X nicer but they don't have a range.
