How are the gun control laws up near Syracuse. If I moved there from New Hampsire is there anything I should be aware of? How about CCW? Full auto? Gun Dealers?

No Full Auto... CCW is allowed as long as you have a NYS CCW permit... which most counties will not grant on personal protection...only on target and hunting... welcome to the communist block of NY

Stay the hell in NH....

We are the highest taxed subjects in the nation.... Welcome to state income tax...
We are a close second to CA for firearms restrictions....
Forget Full auto....
Ballistic finger printing...
An assualt weapons ban that will not sunset...
Carry Permits take 6 to 9 months to get and most counties are restricted to target shooting or hunting only...
And now they are going after the .50 cals.. Just a matter of time...

If you have opportunities here in NY, good for you. If you can live in a neighboring state and commute in, that would be my advise....

I lucked out and got my pistol permit in a conservative county and got no restrictions and I still plan on leaving the state. taxes suck, local governement's are incompetent at best, laws suck, not just gun laws, economy sucks.
there are some nice things, but a lot of things about NY suck

Syracuse has no local laws like Rochester in banning military pattern weapons. The Onandoga County judges will not issue unrestricted permits; they will be overstamped "hunting and target practice only". Technically its still a concealed permit, but if they catch you carrying in violation of the overstamp, you could lose the permit.
As for dealers, you have Onondoga Police Supply. I haven't been in there in some time, but they had a decent selection the last time I stopped in a few years back. If you care to drive through the Ithaca area I can help you with transfers, but I am an hour south.

Thanks for all the bad news. I never realized upstate was that bad. I figured in NYC would be tough. I had a decent business opportunity which would mean I would have to move, but I just can't bring myself to give up my rights in NH. I am an FFL on the side and I don't want to lose this license. Thanks again for all your valuable advice.

Oh STOP it already, you negative NY ninnies! Any state with Klinton, Chuckie, and a RINO Governor who installed a permanent AW ban can't be all that bad! Machine guns are BBBBAAAAAADDDD for you, OK! We don't need CCW, we have LOTS of policemen just waiting to rush to our defense at the drop of a hat! We have a huge population center teeming with caring politicians who are always looking out for our bestest interests, with countless well-conceived legislation always being proposed! PLUS, we can boast of high property, sales, and income taxes! As a bonus, Indian Casinos (and land claims) are springing up everywhere!

PLUS, The NY forum boasts a M[EDITED!] who is always happy to discuss the latest on safe gun handling!

What's not to love about NY

at least it's still in the bowl. Buffalo is in the drain pipe passing through the foundation out to either the septic tank or main city sewer line depending on if you want to look at it from an urban or rural plumbing point of view

A small pool of eligible hot Republican chicks?

A large pool of liberals?

Oh wait.....that was rhetorical, wasn't it? I keep forgetting that those questions aren't meant to be answered.

But I'll tell you what NY DOES have and that's a TON of hot chickies! And lets just say that SOMETIMES, a liberal woman is more willing to "try new things." And whats better than hate fucking a Hitlery supporting, Gore voting, granola and yogurt sucking, tree hugging, eco car buying, hemp skirt wearing hot chickie?
