Im almost positive that there was a thread on here a few weeks ago discussing whether or not the no CHL sign at the traders village flea market is legal or not.

The letters are the right size and in both english and spanish and everything looks to be legit except that the sign is in  black and red instead of black and white. I think its completely retarded that i cant protect my girlfriend and mother when i go to a shady flea market because of some flimsy sign. I didnt see one uniformed officer there either so i wasnt very reassured in my familys saftey.

I can post pictures of the sign if necessary but im really just looking for a link to the last thread.

BTW: i forgot to add that the sign was at the entrance to the parking lot on a booth that you pay at and it said no firearms in the premesis, does that mean that i couldnt take my pistol out of the holster and lock it in the truck in the parking lot since my truck is on the premesis?

I think everyone else out there has a gun. They used to allow firearm sells but stopped due to SEVERAL people making illegal sales.

They used to have a gun store there on the premises.  I bought one of those $200 9mm black plastic rifles I think made by Hipoint.  What a piece of crap.  Quickly traded it and only got $120 out of it.  Hard lessons learned.  That was about 9-10 years ago and when I went back last summer with the wife, hoping to have SOME fun going through a gun store, it had been converted to AIRSOFT.  Oh Well.  I really wasn't expecting much anyway.

ok, i still need to know if a red and black sign that forbids CHL's will be held as legal.

PROHIBITING HANDGUNS IN A BUSINESS OR OTHER ENTITY

In order to provide notice that entry on property by a license holder with a concealed handgun is forbidden, Penal Code Section 30.06(c)(3)(A) requires that a written communication contain the following language:

"PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY HOLDER OF A LICENSE TO CARRY A CONCEALED HANDGUN) A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN."

"CONFORME A LA SECCIÓN 30.06 DEL CÔDIGO PENAL (TRASPASAR PORTANDO ARMAS DE FUEGO) PERSONAS CON LICENCIA BAJO DEL SUB-CAPITULO H, CAPITULO 411, CODIGO DE GOBIERNO (LEY DE PORTAR ARMAS), NO DEBEN ENTRAR A ESTA PROPIEDAD PORTANDO UN ARMA DE FUEGO."

Penal Code Section 30.06(c)(3)(B) further states that a sign must meet the following requirements:

i. includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
ii. appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
iii. is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

I dont have a membership and i dont plan on cutting my food budget anytime soon to afford it.
Its there any way that you could cut and paste the details of the post on here.

Also the picture that i took on my phone of the sign has different wording than that required by law even though i now realize that the color of the sign doesnt matter as long as its contrasting.

the sign specifically states" Possession of a handgun under authority of texas concealed handgun liscense law texas civil statutes article4412 (too small to read) is prohibited on these premisis.

Then theres a little picture of a colt commander with a circle and line through it

and the same text as above is shown under the picture only its in spanish.

Their sign doesn't conform to the requirements of TX PC 30.06 then.
