Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army ring their bells in front of their stores?

Dick Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.

"Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud
sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our
spring recognition event.

We received the following reply
from the local TARGET management:
" Veterans do not meet our
area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action
groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education."

So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and
veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria,
then something is really wrong at this TARGET store. We were
not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just
a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate
Headquarters and their response was the same.
That's their
national policy.

Then I looked into the company further.
They will not allow
the Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their
stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would
not allow families of employees who were called up for
active duty to continue their insurance coverage while
they were on military service. Then as I dig further,

TARGET
is a French-owned corporation .

Now, I'm thinking again. If TARGET cannot support American
Veterans, then why should my family and I support their
stores by spending our hard earned America! n dollars!

And,
have their profits sent to France.

Without the American
Vets, where would France be today?

"They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks"

Sincerely,
Dick Forrey

Please send this on to everyone you know
to let Target know
we don't need them either !

Sir,

Do you have a reference to confirm your post's veracity?

Do you have any more information on their "national policy" to back up the claims

I checked out several of the home town states for this topic after seeing it on the Arizona board.  It appears on many of the boards I visited.  The Arizona board, as well as some of the other state boards, provides a response that seems to show the truth of the situation, with the following link for anyone who wants to check out details of this matter.

I have defended the right of people in the United States to have the freedom of speech, and will continue to do so.  The author of this topic can say what he or she wants, for whatever reason he or she wants.  It takes all kinds to make this world.  I wonder if the author has something against Target, or if he or she is the kind that either does not care what rumors are spread or has a need to try to get the attention of others in any manner possible.

What on earth would make any right minded individual write such garbage?

Nothing helps your cause more than making a complete ass of yourself (/scarcasm)

I found this topic disturbing that they would be so callus to us Vets. So I search their website site for Veteran Support info. My question to poster is why do they say that they support Vets and the Wall, Troops etc..? Don't get me wrong I support all veteran issue and cause and would be the first to stand up to this corporate sh*tbag. I so I went out to verify the validity of this post and here is what I found.

This sounds like BS, MS, and a PHD (Bullsh*t, More Sh*t, Piled High and Deep)

I stand corrected, before I posted the message I should have checked my facts instead of believing what others told me.
