i'm thinking about transferring to ECU next semester, but a major factor would be the availability of a good place to shoot. i'd imagine it's pretty good b/c of what greenville's like, but just wanted to get some first hand knowledge. thanks!

There is a public range about 12 miles south of Greenville and you can also join the Pitt County Wildlife Club which has a decent range. Plus there is plenty of farm land with safe places to shoot just outside of town. If you head to the beach for the day, you can stop by the range in Havelock. Very nice place to shoot.

ecksray, what's the name of the range south of Greenville and where exactly is it? My wife's parents live in Vanceboro and when her dad and I go shooting we always go down to Havelock. The range you mentioned would be much closer.

Thanks u352!

I'll have to go check the place out before I pack the family up and head to FL to my next assignment. 12 more days to go here in Korea.

I left NC in 2000 when I was transferred from Seymour Johnson AFB to Edwards AFB, CA (where I meet Mike_556 who got me hooked on AR's and this site) and from there I was sent here to Korea. I moved my wife and son back to NC so they could be near her family while I'm over here. My first choice for my follow-on assignment was Seymour Johnson, but the AF decided to send me to Tyndall instead. I was born and raised in McDowell County.
