I've been thinking of checking that range out once I get my new remington 700p
I need to get over there to sight in my wimpy little .308 on the 200 range (my scope wants a 200 yd zero). When ya thinking about?
Woody |
not sure when trying to get people to come to a conclusion if they want to go or not..so far yall are the only 2....hinking.gif. so if we do it will be about the last weekend of the month
I won't have my 308 by then , that's why I want to take advantage of their long range. I can come out with some ak's and ar15s for some mag dumping fun
just let us know when you plan on having it. I told my wife if I'm off work I'll come BTW, do you live in Pascagoula, Moss point, etc?
i live in gautier on the most southwestern corner and yourself?
I'm in west Mobile. Sadly, the range I use will be closing up at the end of the year. I guess I will be using that MS range since it's closer than any other comparable range.
Is Mobile shooting center closing? Is that the one you are talking about? I go there all the time although I havent been in a while. Its a shame if it closes.
just let me know asap when you want to shoot. BTW, my wife hinted that she is getting me a member ship when i said something about joining.
At the moment, yes, the Mobile Shooting Center will be closing at the end of the year. The gentleman who leased them the property passed away, and his family has decided to not let the Shooting Center remain. I wonder what the NRA could do about it? But.... they are going to be taking over Styx River's range and have also opened one in Crestview, FL (Shoal River Shooting Center). There is also talk of them opening one in Hurley, MS.
The website for the new group of ranges is www.gulfcoastshooting.com, but I have yet to finish it out. I know, I'm lazy. Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread. We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion..... Woody |

I'm in barring stuff like hurricanes! Gotta sight in my .308 at 200. Might as well play with my RRA DCM/CMP upper too. Woody |
It looks like at least 1 person I know will be there. I'm off work, so I'm planning on going. |
EXCELLENT!! What are you planning to bring? Should I bring my SAR 2 as well? Woody |
I haven't decided for sure what I'm bringing. Most likely my Bushmaster and SAR 2. Maybe my VEPR-2 and Mossberg 500. I haven't shot my USP Compact in a while, so I guess I need to bring it. Definitely bring your SAR 2. I'd like to check it out. |

What are the rules on what we can shoot at? The only thing we're allowed to shoot is paper targets at the Mobile Shooting Center.
Is the 600 yd range equipped with gongs or do we need enough targets/stands to shoot at 200 and 600?
While I'm sorry that he won't be able to try to make some $$ at the gun show, I have to admit that shooting the 1919 makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm afraid to shoot the Mac 10. Not because of the gun, but because I'm afraid I'll have to start figuring out how to get an NFA toy. Woody |
yes gongs at 100 200 300 400 500 550 600 700 800 900 and 1000yds
Excellent! What about clays? Don't those disintegrate after a good rain? Do they still have to be picked up? Glad there are gongs. I always wished the Mobile Shooting Center had them. Guess I should stop by the hardware store and pick up some target stand making material. See everyone Saturday. |
yes clays are ok...call me tomorrow at 1-228-218-3293 on the cell if you have trouble finding the place or what not....scott
Will do! |
He's not kidding either. The last time I met him at the range, I offered to let him shoot my SAR-2. He said he better not or he'll end up having to get one. I insisted. Now he owns a SAR-2. |
Yep, he does, indeed, own a SAR2 now.
I'll be there, and may be bringing another AR fan. I gotta get some target material together. Woody |
bring who ya want what ya want it dont matter the 1919 should be there along with the mac 10 if you have some 9mm laying around the mac is hungry please feed the machould
