I thought I seen a post in this forum awhile ago about magazines being illeagal in Ohio if they held
more than 30 rounds. I tried to find it but I can only go back 3 pages. Does anyone remember this post?

Sure you can buy them in Ohio but dont do it. The feds will know if you have one and they can track you through am waves you send out through your wire frame glasses, braces and even belt buckles. Especially if youve recently had any flu vaccinations they can track your every move and know if you have any drum mags because those vaccinations are really a special top secret tracking serum.

Oh shit...I think I just heard something...gotta run..

Local police officer tried to sell me an SKS with a 40-round mag. That should tell you how seriously anyone takes it.

IIRC, it's having more than 30 rounds LOADED in such a magazine that's a no-no, not the magazine itself or its use. So, you could have a drum but not more than 30 rounds in it, if I understand correctly.

Someone who's life sucks enough to have read the ORC in its entirety can correct me if I'm wrong.

In any case, I don't give a big rat's ass about the law and won't obey it. So there.

Here's my address in case any coppers wanna come and get me:

Eric Fingerhut
Senate Building

Telephone: 614/466-4583

I'll be waiting, you jack booted pussies.

So if we drive 60 in a 55 we might as well knock over a liquor store on the same trip?

Bit of a difference there, Hawk.

Yup, I have all kinds of M16 parts in my AR's....the only shitty thing is they don't seem to work. It's almost like my lower needs another hole in it somewhere to make it go happy. Dunno?

Oh well, at least I can say I'm flaunting the law even if I can't shoot faster.

I also have Beta-C's loaded with deadly cop-killer bullets. I keep them hidden under stacks of kiddie porn.

From the Ohio Revised Code;

§ 2923.11. Definitions.
As used in sections 2923.11 to 2923.24 of the Revised Code:

(E) "Automatic firearm" means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. "Automatic firearm" also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges.

It's the capacity, not the number of rounds in the Mag. As has already been said, nobody really cares, unless they want to jackpot you over something else. Or unless you are an arrogant asshole and ask for trouble.

Man, I haven't had trouble with that there yet, but I'm a member there too, and they are a bunch of Nazis there. The other day I went there and was being very safe and doing everything you should be doing at a range like that, and the range officer was behide me the whole time when I had my AR out and no matter what I did, every third shot or so, he repremanded me for not doing something right.
You pay a membership there, and of course there should be rules for safety, but then they just go overboard with the stuff.

And I bet if you would bump fire your AR he would call the cops sayin you have a FA.

Thats why I like the range I go to. We bump fire ALL the time and get in no trouble and have all kinds of fun

It's just Da'man tryin' to get you down.

My nephew borrowed my M4gery and took it there. He had some problems with some silver bear ammo so the range nazi dissasembbled my rifle and told him the firing pin was chipped. He said he was a sniper in Vietnam. The funny thing was, he took out the buffer retainer pin and was calling it the firing pin. I blasted my nephew for letting that redneck touch my stuff.

No real trouble other than threats of losing my membership....I had no idea at the time it was illegal in Ohio. A bit naieve I guess, I figured cause I bought it in Ohio it was ok to use in Ohio.

That's about what I figured, some busybody asswipe getting into other peoples business.

I wouldn't worry about it and from the way it looks there's no enforcement of this stupid law anyway...
Link Posted: 10/6/2005 8:31:43 AM EDT
Yes, but as far as I know, nobody gives a damn. Personally, I'm perfectly content with 30 and quick mag changes. A Beta would be fun while bumping, though.

I'm guessing everyone is talking about Middletown Sportsmans Club. The range rules there say nothing against the law and that includes 31 plus magazines except .22s. The range officers there are good guys (Chuck and Doug I dont know the others) and will look the other way if they get to know someone and they ask first. I used my 75 rounder there once and a guy two weeks ago was using one, they know the law is stupid.

The rules are strick because there is an anti gun resident that lives beyond the rifle range and was claiming bullets were hitting his property and wizzing through the trees. There was a threat of a lawsuit but no word I guess in a year or so. The rifle range people there are working on expanding the range to 300 yards but it isnt approved yet.
