so i was depositing the funds for my can today ().  the trip was uneventful and i finished the day out normally.  I got home to see that my same bank was robbed just after i had left- WEIRD!!!  so...

i'm plagued with questions.  had i been there, and been armed (which i always am now that my CCW came through- )...

i know that any type of "rambo-isms" would most likely result in myself or others being killed, but still...  how would i react if i was there?  if things turned sour, what could/would i do?  what are the legalities in the situation if i had shot?  did i forget to take my laundry out?

i keep running through scenarios and thinking about the layout of the bank- basically NO defensive positions / cover.  do you just draw and hope you get off shots first?  lay down and hope his intentions are only on the money?  wait till he turns around to draw? (does that make this murder?)

from what the news said, it was one man in a camo jacket with sunglasses... we can only assume there was another guy in a "getaway" car.  this bank has been robbed a number of times recently too (right by the highway).

hmmm...  weird day.

now about that laundry...

all my new-account bonus money will be going towards training and ammo now...

The one I took was called "The Test" and was put on by David Blinder of Personal Defense Training.

The Test is a great course. David and his folks are good people and very good at what they do. Take The Test, it is a real eye opener and could save your life some day.

more than likely if it got robbed if you were in there when it did get robbed you would not have known.
unlike the old days where guns were drawn and people were yelling"this is a stick up"
a mere note may have been passed and the teller relinquished the money from her station.
happened to my brother,he was waiting inline and the person 2 up passed a note and left with money.
he never realized it unitl the manager came out and asked everyone to remain they just notified the police a robbery occured.

I'd wait for him to do his thing, then tail him, and rob that SOB myself.

Bushwack the SOB when he walks out.

I think for me many things would come into play, Am I by myself or with my family? Are the robbeers/robber acting very aggresive? Are they pointing guns at others or just the tellers? How many are there. What kind of mood am I in? I have found that I always look for cover when I go into a bank. But infortunately, the line is usually for from any doors or hallways.

I think I would be more aggresive towards hostile robbers pointing guns around the room and yelling if I had my kids with me. Never know what they are gonna do, better safe then sorry...And I would rather take one out and have the rest run, or focus on me, then lose one of my kids or wife.

Once again, robbers waving guns around acting crazy, when I am alone. If nto so agressive, But I dont think I could stand by and have some innocent person get killed by some junkie bank robber. I think alone I would play a more defensive position.

Numbers count too, 5 Guys with aks....Me and my g19 wouldnt stand a chance. But LIke I said above, If it was me or my family....I would take my chance.  They better not turn thier backs...because I would be able to drop one, Then the rest would have to figure out who, and where its coming from, Not to mention they would probably either drop, or crap themselves, That would buy me a few seconds. I like to think I could still engage 2 targets in 2 seconds. Especially in close quarters like a bank. By that time the others would be scrambling for somelace to hide, Giving me the jump on them.....But thats a perfect scenario....I would probably pee my pants and scream like a little girl....

I may be a paranoid wierdo, But everytime I go into bank, school, mall, restaurant, or any crowded place, I look for exits, and areas that could provide cover, incase something happens. You never know when some wacko is gonna come in shooting the place up, cause his ex wifes there with her new husband....

only 5 guys with ak's and you couldn't handle that?  havn't you seen ___(insert john woo film here)___.  he did it!!!  a barrel roll here and "ninjitsu elbow thrust" there and that's all she wrote.

seriously though- my father taught me to survey the crowd, sit facing the door, know the exits, and "size up" everyone who walked in the door wherever i go.  and he doesn't like guns or have a real "preparedness" mindset.  funny.

on a different robbery topic (and to hijack my own thread)- anyone else feel robbed after the Falcon's performance this year?  damn receivers who can't catch...

My ex-MIL got robbed twice her first year as a bank teller.  This'll date it...she worked at a C&S bank on Memorial drive near 285.  The bank sat about a half block off of Mem. Drive and was kind of hard to see.  It was apparently an ideal robbery location.  The first time a guy passed her a note.  The second time a guy came in with pictures of the branch manager's kid and told the branch manager if she wanted to see the kid again, she better give him the money.  He wanted a specific amount, IIRC $15k.  The manager went into the vault where my ex-MIL was working and told her to give her $15k.  She thought the manager was joking 'til she saw her face and the guy standing behind her.  She kind of panicked and wasn't even able to count.  She just threw some money in a bag and handed it to the guy.  He asked her several times if it was the right amount.  She lied and said it was.  She didn't even know how much it was.  She would have given the guy the $15k, but she couldn't make her mind do the math.
