No, the kid's dad is a worthless POS.  More of the story has come out now in the local paper and it was the kid's father who insisted on pressing charges against the homeowner who tackled the kid and called the cops.  It sounds as if the cops weren't going to arrest the homeowner unless the kid's father wanted to press charges, which he did.  He's now trying to paint his knucklehead son as the actual victim in this case.  What a disgrace to fathers everywhere this man is, his kid was 100% in the wrong and he's trying to deflect guilt.  The excuse of "the boy is only 14" doesn't fly anymore when we have a juvenile system full of teenage thieves, rapists, and murderers.  How was the homeowner supposed to know that the kid wasn't one of those types?

Hopefully the Albany County DA has the decency to drop charges against the homeowner and go after the kids and their parents in whatever way he can.  I usually recoil at the thought of frivilous litigation but I'd make an exception this time if the homeowner gets a lawyer and goes after this POS Madeo for mental anguish or something.
