Mine took 8 weeks with Electronic Prints. I sent it in late April and got it in late June. They are overloaded with Apps right now. They won't even give you a status until 45 days has passed. Most people who tell you 2 - 3 weeks probably got theirs a few years ago not recently. The 2 - 3 week wait times are a no-go now.

Yes, I got mine about 3 years ago.  So they are probably backed up with applications.  It does not surprise me since FL is going to shit in some places and as crime continues to rise more and more people are getting their CWP.

The wife did electronic prints and sent her application in on 06-12-08 ...... and she is still waiting.

By the way, when they say 45 days, are they talking 45 BUSINESS days?

The 45 days before they will give you a status is 45 calendar days.

I mailed mine on April 29th and received it on June 27th. Mine was with Electronic Prints so that may explain the 2 1/2 week difference between your time and mine but I would say on average it looks to be about an 8 - 11 week lead time.

I did mine last year with ink prints and it took exactly 8 weeks to the day. I have a friend who did this year electronic and it took 12 weeks.

I think things are a lot more backed up then they were in past.

In reality I don't believe electronic prints really speed up the process enough to warrant the extra cost to the consumer. Just a ploy to give more money to LE agencies. About the only advantage I can see is that your application would not be refused due to "bad prints". The machine will detect the presence of a bad print and make them redo it right there in the spot.

in some of the literature you get with your application, i believe that it states that the electronic prints will speed up the process by 2-4 weeks or something like that.  i would have done mine electronically, but the department closest to me does them once a month, and i found that out the day after it was done.  sucks.  the wait just makes it that much better when it shows up.  i love it, and now i'm learning how to hide a g19 on a 5'7" 160 lb. frame.

My wife called and checked on Friday 08-01-08. She was advised that hers is in processing and she SHOULD receive it either Friday 08-08-08 or Monday 08-11-08.
If so that would put hers right about 2 months.

I'll keep you posted.

I wish.  Took 50 working days for me and a buddy who submitted electronic just a few months ago.

You can see that as good or bad depending on how you want to look at it! More gun owners == good!

For those who really want to speed things up, send a money order.  Not sure why but people who send money orders seem to get it quicker?!  Maybe they wait for the check to clear.
