Welp, I survived. Back surgery yesterday. Screws, pins, and a new disk. 2 incisions. It hurt like a bitch yesterday and last night, but it is feeling better every hour. They have been pumping me full of DILAUDIN and Percosets and an I.v. of muscle relaxers every 3 hours and I feel nothing. I am so happy to get this done.

Congrats man! Appreciate the update - we were wondering how it went. Glad you have it done, and it was successful. I had a good friend have a similar procedure, and he is now permanently disabled because they cut his nerve bundle. My fingers were definitely crossed for you on this one, but it sounds like all good news!

Hope your recovery goes well.

One of my crew had a disk replaced in his neck after an on the job injury.

He doesn't have 100% movement, but made a good enough recovery to come back to work as a firefighter.

It was a career saver for him and he's glad he had it done.

Hope it's the same for you, or better.

Glad it went well and it sounds like the recovery could be quicker than normal.

If I look unhappy it is because I am.

May you have a speedy, full and uneventful recovery. One of my pilots went to Tampa for surgery, walking within a few hours. That was abbout two years ago, still running strong. Laprascopic surgery.

Hey, I feel your pain, I had back surgery on the 8th.
I was in the hospital for seven days.

For five of those days I couldn't get up out of the bed, had to lay flat.
I had two tumors removed from inside the spinal canal at L5 & L3.
Just one long incision for me, twenty stitches.

I was also given Percoset, after I made it home I stopped taking it, started to see things around me move.
I am now on Tylenol, best of luck to you.

That drug cocktail sounds a bit light, have it doubled and report back when a purple hippo enters your room

Congrats on feeling better. The 2 incisions strikes a resemblance to my back surgery. Who did your procedure?

Jes. It has been put off for far too long.

Now I need to focus on recovering to the point that I can comfortably make a business trip to Louisville to visit Jim Beam and Knob Creek next Wednesday,

Thanks for all of the kind words. I just got home within the last couple of hours. I got the sammich maker laying out the various Pain killers and muscle relaxers for proper dispersment. This brings to mind a very wise bit of advice O21 gave be a few years ago.......

I have tried to embed this with little luck. This is the first I have tried my computer rather than Ipad.

I have been here in Louisville since yesterday. I did use the Delta Skycaps to motor me through the airports but have walked most of the time since. I visited Beam and Makers Mark as part of a Company trip and got around pretty well. banditman said it....huge improvements over the years. One week after a fairly major surgery, I would say I am 70%+.

I have about 6 months to get to 100%, but the worst is over!
