I have actually noticed that trend in N.E. GA;  There are usually one or two boxes of .40 but no 9, no .45 no .22 bulk and no .223.

One Walmart in Warner Robins never ran out of 40, but they have been out of everything else popular for a long time.  The other store hardly carries any ammo anymore so I only know that they don't have any 9mm.   What I heard from an employee is that everytime they get some ammo the first person in buys every box.

Yep, WR had 2 boxes of .40 Monday, but absolutely notihng else other than hunting rifle ammo and smaller/expensive boxes of .22. The lady says they get deliveries every day, but only a few boxes at a time.

I have seen 3 or 4 posts on GON for WWB and BB 9mm lots of 500 or a 1000 at a 50% or more mark up.
I am guessing folks are trolling the Walmarts and buying up all the 9mm when it hits the shelves

LINKS left cold on purpose

I am NOT pulling a Prez BO here and bad mouthing the free market but I believe some folks are manipulating the local supply of ammo.

Blazer Brass
$8.97 per 50…. 500 = $89.70 … 1000 = $179.40
Winchester White Box
$19.XX per 100… 500 = $99 …1000 =$198

P.S. Please do not trash the seller's threads.

I have had a hard time finding ammo in walmarts ... I wont lie ... I always look.

But I have found a place that has just about any ammo that you want.

Granted its a little higher than what you can buy it at Mao Mart for but ... they got it. I dont have to troll for it.

Because it's a compromise caliber that isn't all that great anymore? With modern bullets and loads 9mm is plenty potent, with the expiration of the capacity bans nobody really wants big low cap 45's all that much.

Flame suit on.

nah, most of our departments supply practice ammunition.

but i'll swing by a few ChinaMarts and buy some 40S&W if that will keep everyone happy.

The Wal-Marts south of the city suck for ammo.  9mm and .45 is hard to come by but I have seen .40 S&W on the shelves for the past few weeks.  Did you notice the local EE ad for 9mm ammo.  Only $600 for 2000 rounds of 9mm, I wonder where all the ammo 9mm ammo has gone.  Oh, by the way, this ammo is rare now so get in now for the low price of $600.  I wonder if he has any $30 PMAGS?

Just talked to a guy at Mansell Rd in Alpharetta.

He says there are a number of regulars who show up around 6:45am and buy up EVERYTHING.

This is ridiculous. My bf got me interested in shooting and I can't find any ammo to do it with

Let me begin by saying that I am merely passing on the information that I was given. Dont shoot the messenger (not that we can really afford to).

While at Mega Mart this evening, the ammo shelves were bare. Asked the sales rep if they were discontinuing. She leaned in close and said "we are selling out all of the current stock so we can restock with new ammo with tracking numbers so that THEY can tell who ammo was sold to".

I love a good conspiracy theory and am thrilled about the latest UN proposal for a global currency, so stay tuned.

FWIW, i just cleaned out a local ChinaMart of their .40 when I was passing by last night.

I don't have use for 357SIG or 22Mag, but that and some .243 are really all that was left.

There was a lot of bare shelf space.
