I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get a headspace gauge for a Mosin Nagant in Kansas City, or if that's a "too specialized" of an item that must be ordered?

Just loctite a small piece of .005 shimstock to the rear end of a case you've pulled the bullet and if it will close the bolt on the empty shell w/ the shimstock, it is loose.  Just remember not to force anything to close.

hmm...I have no idea where to get shims... .005 sounds like a very high tolerance...I hope I don't have to hang up the M44 I just bought.  just to confirm, we are talking about 5 thousandths right?
