Taking my daughter up to see Crazy Horse and Mt Rushmore next week.
Is there anything else I should check out while I'm in the area? tnx

imho the most beautifull place in the country. have to go to spearfish and see the canyon, its where they filmed the winter scenes from dances with wolves. also custer state park.
the badlands. and don't forget wall drugs. |

I would go up and see Medora in southwestern North Dakota. Very beautiful and lots of History.

well those are some nifty ideas..
but the key words are "..in the area". We also plan on going to Devils Tower in Wy on the way back home. |

Reptile Gardens, Mt. Rushmore Cave, Flintstone Villiage, horseback trail rides, helecopter rides over the area, some of this might be seasonal and you are definatly going off season.

just got home today...
"Off Season" about sums it up! Mt Rushmore, Crasy Horse were open, got to see them the first day. wall drug was "ok"...worth the trip? eh! passing buy? yes, pretty neat place but not worth the 2 hrs round trip just to see it. I almost took the drive thru the badlands as I was there, but IIRC, it was $10.00 and I was running out of time. Most the places David listed were closed. I would say it would warrant another trip "in season" as there is plenty to do if everything is open. |
