THE NEWS TRIBUNE
Published: August 12th, 2005 12:01 AM

Tacoma and most other Washington cities continued Thursday to set daily gas-price records.
Tacoma’s new average high is $2.513 for a gallon of unleaded regular, according to a survey by AAA Washington. That’s up 1.4 cents from Wednesday and 7 cents higher than Aug. 4, when the record-setting string began.

Meanwhile, in world markets, oil prices rose briefly to $66 a barrel Thursday and settled at a new high amid strong demand and concerns about supplies.

With U.S. gasoline inventory levels falling, “gasoline will remain a key concern over the coming weeks,” said Orrin Middleton, energy analyst at Barclays Capital in London.

Gas at the Tukwila Costco was $2.49 on Thursday.  Yikes.  I try not to drive my Durango R/T much anymore, because it gets a whopping 11 MPG on a good day.....

I'm grateful for the company car, since they pay for all my gas, even if it is a mini-van.  Well, at least for two more months.  It is being replaced by a Chevy Trailblazer.  At least they are still paying for gas.
