A new computer that freezes No blue screen of death, just freezes. Running memtest now but I'm kinda bummed... not wanting to deal with RMA's

Well it may not be a hardware failure afterall..

Did some reading, turns out my memory and motherboard don't like eachother.. ASUS released a bios update to fix "stability" with certain brands.. hmmm

my current asus board wouldn't read all of its sata ports without a bios update out of the box,
I don't think asus is quite what they used to be,

at least it sounds like you got it straightened out

A lot of people were saying that..

When I picked the board I pretty much stuck with Asus though.. my dad does computer services for a living, and builds workstations and the like for small businesses.. his experiences have been all brands have issues, but he seems to like Asus the most.
