Very nice.  Smoking is the ONLY way to cook a Turkey.  Mine usually come out a bit more black, but that's probably due to the wood I use (hickory with a little mesquite) and the length of smoking.  Yours is beautiful

I smoke one every year.  It is definitely the way to go.

My secret is wrapping the whole bird in a butter-soaked cheesecloth.  It comes out a picture perfect golden brown, no soot.

We smoked the first one in years. It came off at 1:00 and was perfect.  We've fried the last 5 or 6 years and decided to change up a little this year.  I cook at 375 and use about a handful of apple chips.  Bird does not get too dark or too strong.

Never had smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving before, but I'd be willing to try it sometime. It looks good!

I swore against fried turkey for a year or two after it started to become really popular, then my in-laws did two of them one year and I was sold. Damn tasty.

Yes. Holy shit it was good.
Injected it with butter and cajun seasoning and sprinkled seasoning on the outside.

Holy shit! Did I say it was good?

Last turkey I smoked had apricot brandy injected into the breast and the outside got a good dusting with Slap ya Mama.

It was smoked on hickory, apple and pecan woods, with apple juice in the water pan for moisture.

I was happy with the way it turned out.
