so its an exercise in futility for me,  so im not feeling like trying to search out more without some vetting from some other "price conscious" folks

my current take:

academys:  manned by neckbeards that have no understanding of customer service
cabelas:  big box swill.  so packed full of stuff its hard to find what you want
range 54: great customer service, just kinda high priced
wichita gun club: slightly below average prices, above average custome service just dont have anyting i cant live without, typically
alpha 1 drop zone:  not muc h selection
bullseye:  lots fo selection, kinda high priced
bullet stop, not much selection, kinda high priced
ryker arms, good selection, but he only displays the guns online.....

help solve my dilemna!! i like russian guns and cz stuff

Don't forget Thunderbird Tactical.  Nice range, nice shop, decent selection, and nice people.  High prices, usually.

I bought my last gun at The Wichita Gun Club.  Those folks were great!  Prior to that I'd never set foot in the store, but I'll certainly go back.  Their prices were very fair, and even better than most online retailers.  Jess, the owner, was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I almost bought the gun at Range 54 this time.  Ken, a co-owner, was very, very helpful when I went in.  He pulled so many guns out for me to handle, and their prices, while high-ish, weren't really too bad.  There's so much competition in Wichita these days that prices are starting to get closer between all of the locations.  I prefer to buy my firearms from locally-owned places.

ETA:  Saw you like CZs...TWGC had a few CZ P-10Cs for $499 w/night sights.  Also had an SP-01 Phantom and P-09 as well that were also reasonably priced.  I almost bought a P-10C...that gun seems really nice.

If you get out and about try treasure chest in McPherson.

I just bought a safe from Treasure Chest.  Hasn't even been delivered yet.  They seem like really good people.  I didn't get a look-see over all of the guns since I was safe shopping, but they appear to have a really good selection.  All kinds of goodies in there, too.  If you're looking for a safe, they have a great selection of Superior, Browning, and Liberty safes...maybe another name or two as well, I forget.

Another side note- I was contacted last night by Austin regarding my safe; he was prepping it for delivery and noticed some big scratches on the backside.  He wanted to make me aware before he drove it down.  He could have unloaded it and pushed it against the wall, and I'd never have known the difference, so I thanked him greatly for his honesty and integrity.  We're going to swing by today to see it; he said he'd make it right.  

After my experience buying a big-a$$ed safe from those folks, I wouldn't even look anyplace else for another one.  They worked their asses off getting it in the house (it wasn't easy) and acted like it was no big deal at all.

YMMV but I'd be surprised.

Don't forget Mr. Pawn, Money town, and Kings pawn shops. Though I've been buying off gunbroker lately and shipping to Ryker Arms.
