Sort of simple here.  Ohio does not at present allow CCW to anyone who is not an LEO.  Pistol must be innaccessible from the driver's or passenger compartment, and ammo stored separately.  In general a locked pistol case in an SUV is sufficient, or keeping the pistol and ammo in the Trunk would be ok.  The idea is you gotta make multiple moves to put people, pistol, and ammo together.  May not be what you wanted to hear, but hope it helps.

Cincinnati is even tougher in the city limits. No semi-automatics are permitted at all. Revolvers only. You can possess a semi, but you have to register it with the PD by filling out a form and paying some $$.

That's why we fled back to our rural roots.

EDITED TO ADD: Here's the Enquirer's official "tally" story for the year wrapup.

I like this part about the Angel of Death Harvey...

The 65 homicides in 2002 is the most in the city since 1987, when hospital orderly Donald Harvey's 27 victims boosted the total to 66. There were 63 homicides in 2001. That total was surpassed Sunday in a murder-suicide in Avondale.
