I was channel surfing one night, and came across an episode of 'Coupling' (it was on the one station that broadcasts BBC programming. http://www.kera.org if you care, but anyway). Now, I found the show funny, (like Black Adder) but I noticed that they are way more vulgar, etc..   err they play fast and lose,   for what is I'm guessing is a primetime show. So to actually get to my question, are shows like Coupling mainstream or fringe or what?

yeah it's no big deal to see tits on TV over there, I thought it strange when I first moved to the USA how puritanical the TV channels were but they had no problem showing graphic violence.
