how long does it take to get your license once they receive the paper work? has anyone had any problems getting yours processed? how did you send it to them (reg mail or certified?)

thanks for any comments

Usually...it takes about 2 months. I did mine in the summer of 2002 when there were a large amount of people getting theirs. It took 93 days for mine to arrive in the mail. I also found out that having an arrest(for any reason) will delay it, they need to check on the disposition of the charges. A military or other security clearance, past or present will also delay it, it raises a flag at the FBI when doing a background check.

Six weeks on mine. I was happy since my instructor said it was running about 8 weeks at the time. I think you can count on somewhere between one month and two...

Do they give you a temp. license until your real one comes in the mail so that you can carry right after the class?

No, unfortunately you have to wait until the CHL is in hand before you can legally carry. Seems to take forever, but it arrives eventually.

Exactly four weeks for my wife(then steady GF) and I to get ours from TX.

This was something considering we live in NM.

You're kidding right? You might be SOL. Law says 90 days max.
