Was taking a couple of guests up the stratosphere tower and had my 226 .40 S&W in a safepacker man purse and came up to the security checkpoint with metal detector portal.  I figure, now I have to get a refund on these tickets as they were sure to turn me away.  Stepped up to the portal and put my safepacker onto the table, walked through the metal detector and the security guard unsnapped and looked inside, looked back up at me and nodded, pushing it toward me.  That was cool!

strange, a few years back they kicked me out of the casino. We were trying to go to the top and saw the metal detectors. I told the guard I had a CCW and was carrying. He told me the only way I could go up with a gun is if I were a 'federal marshal' (his exact words). Then he got on his radio and we were escorted out.
Ohh well I'm scared of heights anyways.

Was down at Bikefest at Cashman Center. Had LEO walk up to me and asked me to follow him, once off to the side he asked if I was carrying. Told him yes and showed CCW, he told me to have a nice day. Who figures.

Really?

Cashman Field is a government building, therefore carrying concealed with or without a permit is against State statute (unless you are a LEO).

BTW: What gave the LEO the impression that you were carrying in the first place?

Just wonderin'.

He noticed an impression in my vest. New to the area so didn't realize Cashman Center was a Gov't building, other wise wouldn't have worn it.

I don't think it was the impression in your vest, it was the fact that YOU WERE WEARING A VEST!  Nothing screams " Hey I am carrying a gun!" than a vest.

absolutely opposite of what i was told a few years ago. tried to go up, but was told i couldn't have guns on the property.  i went back to my car, dropped it off, and he still gave me shit when i got back!

We were going to go up after seeing "Bite". Then I saw the metal detector, I had a knife, no CCW back then. So said screw it and played craps.

Last time I was in Vegas was before I got my CCW.  I had a small pocketknife with me when going through the security check point there.  I told the guard and he held onto it for me until I came back down.  Which I was fine with.  I took a cab over and didn't have a car to go stash it in obviously.
