overall, not too bad.  some notable impressions:  niw labelle 30 rounders were going for 14.95, some bushy le rifles here and there, found one used le colt lower, bushy stripped and assembled lowers, (one of which came home with me), and model 1 sales was there all the way from IL.  good times, good times.

The show sucked, same old crap, same inflated prices.  I'm not going anymore unless I'm looking for a new/used handgun and that's after I've tried the boards.  Everything else I can get on the web for less.

The leo AR's I saw were selling for 1,000+  I was surprised to see Model1 there, but for the price I would spend $40 more and get a Bushy with 4150 steel.

Nice AK, too bad it cost $300.00 more than mine did to build, exactly the same, handgun mags were a rip still IMO.

It was a definite improvement over Big Town last weekend as far as both the # of vendors and visitors.  Was looking for some Steyr M40 mags and a vendor told me that he had sold all 10 of his serf magazines for $10.00 to make room for hi-caps. D@#%!! Everyone else wanted ~$30.00 for normal capacity M40 mags. Was impressed with the Model-1 Sales booth and wished that I had known that they were coming because I had used my $ yesterday to liberate my PT92 from the clutches of the layaway bin + a 1K of 9x19mm for it.

Lone Star Guns had a booth there also. Glad to see them starting the comeback trail. They said that they were going to have grand reopening party once they can get back in the place.  Wish them well.

Did get the illuminated scope + mount for my M44 trunk gun and the obligatory bayonet for the drive-by bayonetings. Gots to love them 'evil' features.

I dont know what show some of you went to.... this was one of the best I have been to!!!!

1.  NIW Center AR-15 30 rounders, LEO marked, for $11 CASH out the door.

2.  Glock hi-caps, brand spanking new, for $16.95.  Dizzam!

3.  RRA collapsing stocks for $65.

4.  Used AR-15 mags for $6-$8 all over the place.

5.  Good deals on knives.  Got a sweet CRKT for $15.

6.  Lots of EBR's everywhere you looked.  There was even a more chipper attitude with most of the dealers.... less grouchy crap than I have ever gotten.  Most dealers commented on how good the sales were going.

Sure... there were the few dealers still wanting to get pre-ban prices for some of theur stuff... but this is expected.  Supply and demand will work it's course... but that takes time.  It's nothing to be offended about... you just walk over to the next guy.  Quite frankly, I am amazed at how fast the prices have fallen.

I have to say, this was the best time I think I have had a the Market Hall show.... and I have been going for a long time.  It was good to see the Austin crew too.  Lunch was stellar.... what did we have, 20 guys?

Walking around the show, I caught myself grinning several times.  I could just smell freedom in the air.

Now this makes me mad, I always use classicshows.com and I "knew" there was a show at the end of this month, so I checked their site and nothing is listed for this weekend!

Guess I missed another good show.

Thanks for nothing Classicshows.com

Don't use classic shows.com as they do not list MH shows.  Use Shotgun news .com, they list all the shown in Texas.

FYI -

There are four major promotors in DFW - Dallas Arms, Cook Family (ClassicShows), Bob Norman, and Bean (Hi-Caliber). Others such as Great Western are trying to get into the market, but have not been very successfuly.

All Market Halls Shows are Dalals Arms - www.dallasarms.com

Classic shows was last week at Big Town.

Depending on which Glock hi-cap mags you were looking for there were still some left at the place where I bought some different mags....I think they were $16.95 because I asked the guy how well they were selling and he said he was the only person with any left.  My brother brought his pre-ban Ruger over to take to the range today and I now know why everyone likes the hi-cap mags...was great not having to reload or change mags every two seconds...

The show was slightly above average for the DACA market hall show. I've been to most of them over the past 4 years, and can only remember a couple where Model 1 didn't bring their customer-hostile attitudes. I've made 2 purchases from them at the shows and all I can remember is how unfriendly the guys were. Prices elsewhere in the show were all over the map. Saw a bushy leo m4gery for $1200? I don't think so, Tim. Didn't see much in the way of Colt leo guns (what I was looking for). I didn't see anything while I was there to justify spending more than the $7 I paid to get in. There was lots of stuff, but nothing I was needing desperately. Being so close to critter-killin season, Fudd-guns outnumbered evil black rifles 10:1.

Big State dist. inc. had the Glock mags for $16.95.  They had lightly used LEO G17 mags for $14.95!!!  They had a TON when I bought mine, shortly before lunch.  There were a BUNCH of dealers there selling them for $19.95.... even a couple for $25.... but Big State had the best deal.  I got 10.

I thought it was a pretty good show.
I got pretty much everything I was looking for:
A BC 10/22 folding stock for $50, some grease gun mags NIW for $8, and a few new AR mags for $13.
I needed to go to get some supplies anyway so I can't complain.

I did still see beanie babies and one guy said the HK compact mags were still $90. Ouch. Some of the mag dealers won't survive.

I went - first time in a long time....  Wish I'd known Model1 was there ahead of time... they sent my kit with NM rear sights on my detachable carry handle, despite the fact I wanted normal A2s... (anybody wanna swap?).  But yeah, their attitude bites.

Got 100 rnds from Dallas Reloading.... and was not thinking straight at the time... regret not getting 500... anybody know where they might openly retail their stuff?  $70 for 500rnds of 55gr FMJ in a 30-cal can seems like a pretty good deal.

Got a Lula, $20 from "Delta Force"(?)
half a dozen NIW Center 30rnds for $66 from www.amerisurp.net

Wanted but didnt get: 34" tactical carry case for under $30... one dealer was selling them for that, but all he had was 38's an up.  Seems there was a run on the bags for collapsible AR sizes.  Somebody had no-name chinese holo-scopes for like $30... looked intriguing.  I really want something between that and $300.

What I found interesting is the fact that the Bushy LEO M4 were $1000.00 or higher. I got mine from Schramms last week at Big Town and only paid $900.00 for it. This week they were a grand. Can you say gouge?

I bought a M4A3 upper from Model 1 for my Bushy M4. It has an A2 upper. Spent sometime with buddies and had an overall good time.

And guys. Model 1 is ALWAYS at Market Hall!

I think that DFW Gun carries Dallas Reloading stuff.  I know they keep 9mm and .45 in stock, but don't know about any others.  I looked at their stuff as well, but can get 9MM WWB for less at Academy.

I also got in on the $11 NIW centers (bought 14 between my buddy and myself) and $6 g/vg USGIs (took home 15).

Every mag dealer I talked to wanted $115-$125 for Colt 9mm mags.  Whatever.

Also had a helluva time finding 55gr FMJ Wolf (lots of JHP, though), and couldn't find ANY Q3131A.

Got a good deal on a slightly used Colt gov't profile barrel to boot.

+1 on the rude Model1 folks.  I've never understood impolite salespeople.

Whats wrong with JHP wolf?  I actually prefer it, since almost all the ranges up here require SP or HP ammo.  I fint they all shoot to the same level of accuracy.... they all suck equally.

I don't want to get sued by a dead home-intruder's family for using flesh-eating dum-dum bullets.
Or something like that.

Actually, I keep my rifles zeroed for Q3131A, and Wolf 55g FMJ seems to have roughly the same POI.  The JHP stuff might do the same thing, but I'd rather not buy a case and find out it has a drastically different POI.  And I don't want to have to rezero when switching between cheap imported blasting ammo and cheap imported blasting/HD ammo.

Well, the POI difference between Wolf FMJ and Wolf JHP ammo, is FAR less than the difference in the POI of Q3131A and Wolf FMJ... in my experience.  Just curious.

That's good to know.  Next time I won't look so hard for the FMJ if only JHP is available.

Wolf 55 FMJ and Q3131A shoot to nearly identical POI for me.  It may be 1 or 2MOA off, but not enough to for me to notice for the type of shooting I do with the Wolf.  Wolf, of course, has a much looser group than the '31, but they'll both hit silhouettes out to 300 without a problem.

Black Hills 68 and 77 OTM is another story.  It shoots to a significantly different POI than either Wolf or '31.

I have chrono'd both Q3131A and Wolf FMJ. Wolf FMJ is almost 500 fps slower on 16 inch barrel. That will definitely affect POI at longer ranges.

Do you have those numbers handy?  I wouldn't mind running them through a ballistics program and see what impact 500fps has on drop out to 300Y.
