to start a shout out to Scott at Waldens, thank you for helping my brother with the H&K trade/sale, he is extemely pleased. great service above and beyond as usual. we went on the tour being that my brother came to visit and hang out. went to pawn king on bgcoop suggestion, really nice guy and decent prices on pretty much all his guns. went to lunch and then went to Blankenship firearms, talked with Paul, i have to say he was a super nice guy and even let us shoot his Daniel Defense SBR. we'll hit Academy this evening, and the best thing we did today was not go to Sydney's . i almost forgot, Paul was saying he's working on a shooting range close to his shop.

Try, Carolina Star, above Aiken,SC. They have a 300yd KD range and a 500 yd field range. It is about an hour from Augusta. Ft Gordon has longer ranges, weird hours of operation.

The one we are working on now is going to be an outdoor straight 150 yards with covering etc. 10 spots

Behind it will have a 50x50 yard range with 360° shooting, I just got tired of the limited options for safe pistol move and shoot in the area.

Ft. Gordon wont even allow drawing from the holster and shooting, or extreme angles across the range. The range nazi's they have are a pain. I dont know how many times they have come over and fingerbanged my guns prior to asking, twice causing damage to wooden stocks on the concrete. Some of them lack a serious knowledge of the MAN rules. Don't touch my stuff without asking, and dont talk to me when the range is hot and I am shooting please.

The indoor range next to our current location is just waiting on the local clowns, er I mean Goverment to decide on a few items prior to going forward.

I also secured 100 acres in Mcduffie for shooting my bowling ball mortars and other types of tannerite noise making.

Just to make some people unhappy, none of the above venues will be open to "sporting" guns

Where in McDuffie county, or are you ready to say yet?  Would be nice to have a good place to shoot the MG08/15 besides the Fort Gordon Machinegun Shoot.

Sounds like they're gonna be some nice ranges, thought about who all they'd be open to... public or memberships.

Do you work for the big brown truck? If this is who I think it is stop in for details...

The range will be PRIVATE, but open to the public. I know it sounds confusing, but for liability and nanny state rules it will be a private club, where almost anyone can go shoot.

We will be having 2 and 3 gun matches, and already have FN and SIG scheduled in 2011 for dealer days.

More info to follow after August 10th

Understand completely on the private thing, kinda like the Employee's only sign over the door of my machine shop that the insurance company makes me put up, just so i'm not liable for someone walking in and killing theirself on one of the machines. It'd be nice just to have somewhere different to shoot.

You guessed it.  The plans sound great, but isn't that Columbia not McDuffie County?
