How long of a piece do you need. Does it have to be cast iron? I might have a section of well casing I can cut for you.

foot long or so, i just saw some cast iron at work and it looked ideal, don't know what well casing is, so i'm not sure. I need it split in half lengthwise, basically making two chutes. it need to be able to withstand being lined with foam and pressed around an object at about 300-400 degrees F

thanks for the info

Hmmm, no 12 inch, but, I do have some 6inch ductile. One flng x flng 6 inch x 12 inch spool. Got no conceivable use for it right now. The flanges are 10.5 across or therebouts.

Ahh never mind, what I got won't do for what you need. To small and ductile is a bear to cut anyway

thanks for all the help anyway , I guess the search continues.

Are you in the Las Vegas area? If so, you may be able to pick up a piece from the local 525 Plumbers and Pipefitters union. For that matter you may be able to score a section of steel pipe and have them cut it for you on site. They have tons of scrap cast and steel they get rid of every month, I would go in person and talk to someone in the weld shop or in the apprenticeship building as opposed to making a phone call. Most of the scrap is smaller than 12" DIA, but you might find something more suitable if you ask.. The hall is located just north of Bonanza on Lamb Blvd, and the weld shop and apprenticeship buildings are located on same lot just SE of the main hall..
