I'm thinking about using my state tax refund to buy a Taurus 65 and 650 (both are MD approved, .357 and stainless; 65 is a DA/SA 4" standard revolver, 650 is DAO, 2", 5 shot) at the same time in the near future. Any suggestions on what I should expect to pay?

3R in Frederick.

Model 65 $325
Model 650 "CIA" $317
+Tax, State PD fee, and if it needs a lock.

With it being a Taurus it should have a bulit in lock and have the shell casing so the above prices should be right. (I grab his copy of Jerrys and added his normal mark up and that is the prices I got. He doesn't come in till 6pm and I'm usly home by then.)

I think those are the blued ones, do you have the prices on stainless? (65SS and 650SS)

Those are the stainless. Well I know the 1st one is. 2nd one should be also, but I might have looked at the wrong one.

The store is only a part time one. Only open two days a week. So his prices are going to be on the way low end.

Damn, those might just justify driving to Frederick (I'm in Harford County).

Also check Jim's O.C. Outdoors in Dundalk. 410 282-1900. I bought my Taurus 605 SS .357 2" from them for right around $300.00. Good selection and decent folks.

Nice, they're only 15 miles from me. Does he have odd hours, or is he normally open?

Open 7 days a week. I think it was Easter day last year when I bought the Taurus.

I hit OC Outdoors today, $375 for each gun so I'm out the door for $804 after tax and $10 background fee. I figure it was worth the extra cash over 3R to avoid driving to Frederick.

Only problem is they have to special order the guns, so it'll be 2-3 weeks before I can take'em home. But at least I'm out of town a lot of the next three weeks for work and vacation, so I wont be sitting around the house waiting for the call to come saying the background check is back.

Good for you. Think I'll head down that way and check out the Taurus Gaucho. My Winchester lever action needs a mate.

Its between where 70 and 270 meets off of RT 85.

I'm already on week 4 of waiting, probably 1-2 more weeks before they arrive according to the store.

That sucks. I've heard of long waits for taurus. When you get them, hope you have a range report. For the price thinking about picking up one also.

Apparently (or, according to the shop) Taurus has stopped including the shell casings with most of thier guns, so MD dealers have to special order them with the casings. So, they have to be drop-shipped from Florida (I guess thats where they enter the US, after being made in Brazil?).

If you don't have your heart set on a Taurus, MD Small Arms near Upper Marlboro has used S&W 65s and 66s for $235.Haven't seen them so don't know how they are (PD trades),but maybe worth a peek.
