You ever have your wife get mad over an expensive gun purchase?

I'm starting to feel the fire from one, but I done good.  $537 for an IOR Valdada 1.1-4x scope for the new girl gun (the one I started putting together for my wife and she won't shoot).

She's still mad, but I am friggin ectatic about how I won this thing (on eBay) for almost $200 off normal price.

So I put it to the Washington ARFCOM group... should I feel bad for not telling her?

P.S. - with any luck it'll be here in time for the LCR

As long as you did not take any food from the kids mouth's, or are skipping out on a bill that needs to be taken care of...

I would say you did well.

Well, in a twisted sort of way I might call it partially your fault since you gave me the "look on eBay" idea...

I got that look when I brought home a LNIB Colt Govt .380 pocket lite that I bought from a local cop for $250.  I told her tuff stuff and in the end paid more than that little gun was ever worth.

I keep a separate checking account for my toys and my wife doesn't have the combination to the gun safe. All she knows is that all of my guns are black so if I bring a new one home and it's black then she doesn't know the difference!

Is it in bad taste that I use recent crime events for reasons to buy new toys?

At least this time she bought the whole...I need a gun that shares magazines and ammo as my AR for redundancy...

Here's what it ended up looking like on the rifle.

It was worth being bitched at...

a WECSOG instructor helped me put it on, too bad all he had was a crooked vise mounted on his kitchen counter.  I'm kinda surprised he didn't find a way to mount it backwards.

Here's one that you can use, but you can only use it ONCE.

"Honey, look what I won in raffle!!!  I never won anything in my life and I buy this raffle ticket at the NRA fundraiser and, holy shit, I can't believe I'm this lucky.  Let's buy a lottery ticket before it wears off!"

It worked once for me many years ago.
