Quoted: My buddy and I are thinking of going shooting at Buffalo Range this weekend. He wants to site in a LMT AR with an Eotech and Troy rear site. I am going to bring a 10/22, AR, and maybe a new .308 I'm still working on.
I have never been to this range. What do I need to know? What targets are fun to shoot in this range they call the pit?
We are both kinda use to shooting on closed ranges. How many folks are out there shooting on weekends? Is there anything special I should bring like maybe cardboard backers, etc ?
Has anyone ever shot at McMillers (I think) in Wisconsin?

Buffalo is the shiznit. $20 for all day. Rapid fire is allowed (if not encouraged) in the pit. Also have slow fire bench rest 100/50 yards.
First check out here:
www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=23&t=245658And if you haven't already, their website:
buffalorangeshootingpark.com/Targets include anything not metal or glass, and no tracers/incendiary. I've used laundry detergent bottles, snipers blocks (i.e. 4x4's painted orange), CD's, etc. Best targets are those you can hurl out about 100 feet because there is a drop off and if you can't throw it out far then it goes out of sight down below.
Also, if you have the patience, you can have the RO call a "range break" and you can go out and place whatever large targets in the pit. I have put a watermellon or two out there in the past, others have put mannequin, christmas santas, furniture, golf balls (for precision work), teddy bears, kid's toy vehicles (like they would ride around in -- but no metal), etc. Basically anything you can think of.
Supposedly we are going to have a Pumpkin shoot
closer to Halloween or after on November 5th. Those should be good targets too.
In light of the bump, let me address your McMiller's question b/c I forgot first time through.
I haven't been to McMiller's personally, but PCGuns recommended it to me. Their website says they just installed a 300 yard range.
