If you don't frequent GD, I'd like to direct your attention to this inspirational thread:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1549944_I_m_Dying.html&page=1

I'm laying here at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth Texas realizing my final days are upon me.

Be prepared for a potential dust storm. Amazing bunch of folks around here!

It's really been inspiring watching what all the members have done. $5 to $2k a pop. Almost $30k total in 24 hours.

It is amazing! Great awareness as well. Tried to register as a donor which before an hour ago never crossed my mind! Unfortunately though I had a one time fluke health emergency that is one of the few things that makes me ineligible for donating. Not for blood but for marrow

Went to see Jeff the other night. The awesome financial help aside, don't lose sight of this: The man needs blood every bit as much as financial help.

A Positive. If that's you, please donate!

ETA: for clarification.

How can I find out my blood type without a dr visit (which I can't afford at present)?
Link Posted: 10/30/2013 1:35:17 PM EST
Your doc might already know. I believe you can buy blood typing kits at pharmacies/Amazon.com etc. Or you can just donate blood and it will be typed/screened after donation.

I'm A+ does anyone know where I can donate blood in McKinney. I donated regularly in Colorado. Is there a way I can donate blood directly to the cause?

Donating blood is free - they have to type your blood (so they know who can use it) and will let you know.

I know that I am an O, I think negative which from what I remember is rare and universal. Will try to donate tomorrow, if not then Monday!

$8,787

This would cover a year at Austin Community College. If your daughter does well there for a year or two, entrance to UT is all but guaranteed.

Go donate with the red cross then call them about a week later. I donated a couple weeks ago then they called me to tell me I have the rarest of all blood types. I'm AB negative. They asked for me to donate platelets I will be going Monday to do that.
