I just got a phone call on my cell phone from 13142447900.
So a gentleman says hello as if he knew me, and I stumbled trying to think who this could be.



He continues and says he wants to speak with me about some unpaid tickets (for which I have none).



I thought also being ~9:20pm was odd.



He never introduced himself, but I said sure, and he gave me a date for a parking ticket sometime in 08.



Then I asked who was the ticket issued to and he didn't respond, then I asked for the make of the car and then the license plate.......no answer.



Then he proceeds by saying something to the effect that I am too stupid to be on the road and hangs up.
The voice sounded a little digitized like an automated phone recording, I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but it sounded odd from the beginning.
The phone number came up as this on google:

What kind of scam was this?


 

I've never heard of a scam like that.  However, there's no way for you to really know where that call came from.  I can use my phones to send any caller ID I want.  I once played a trick on a couple friends by putting in the main number to the white house and then calling them and teling them I got a security job there.  Of course they didn't beleive me so I told them to google the number on their caller ID...
