I didn't have my CHL the last time I attended this show, but I'm a CHL holder now.  Can you pack to it?

Seems I remember some thread somewhere about car break-ins or somesuch because CHL holders were putting their weapons back in their cars because they couldn't pack into the show...

Can't carry into any show that I know of. Those were Ford F-250's if I remember correctly.

not a hard truck to break into, but i hear the dodges are even easier...

I thought you could carry to them, but they had to be unloaded and tagged as such.  Though at that point I guess you'd just have a small club instead of fire power if needed.

Whether or not 30.06 applies to gun shows is another thread.

However, you can certainly declare your carry gun, have it tagged, and bring it in to avoid having it stolen from your vehicle in the parking lot.

+1, This is what I do. Just leave the ammo in the truck and carry the gun in with the empty mag. AT the most, if they get in your truck you'll just lose the ammo

I didn't see much for deals on reloads...

Well, I did buy 500rds of 45acp for 130+tax. but the ammo was in short supply it seemed...

Not really.

I did buy 100 rounds of 55 grain PSP .223 reloaded in LC brass for $29-- Yeah, I know, not really a good deal, but I'll use it for my local ranges that aren't FMJ friendly like Garland Public Shooting Range and Targetmaster.  I also scored 2 boxes of Winchester Ranger T-Series for my XD-40 daily carry pistol at $25 per box.  I bought a bottle of Breakfree CLP, some bore brushes and some long-stemmed q-tips for AR cleaning duties.  Finally, a big-assed bag of beef jerky rounded out the day.

Other than that, the deals were few and far between.  No ammo cans to be had anywhere; bummer.  I guess I'll work over the mil-surp joints this week looking for an ammo can or two for storage of my overpriced .223.
