Probably better to buy one here. Lots about, V22's, Spikes Tactical and TacSol but if you want the Rolls Royce then get a Bradley Arms Recce Carbine.

So that is a yes then?

They are some sweat rifles you got, I am a sucker for desert tan.

Do firearm officers allow them for sporting/target purposes?

Target, hunting whatever. Loads of people have them. There are quite a few UK dealers of AR15. Just pick up any shooting mag there are always adverts. Tactical solutions, Spikes Tacktical, Accuracy speaks or ciener kits.

How longs a piece of string. It all depends on what Stock, Grip and Handguard and the make of the AR its self. Your better asking streetfighter. However Black dog magazines are the only way to go with .22

A magpul PRS AR15 stock is about £210 but a a cheap stock is £40 . Like wise a cheap red dot it £25 to £50 but an Eotech is £290 +

hi bob,

Buy one in the UK that has been built here by someone reputable, and there won't be any awkward questions regarding it's origin and legality. Expect to pay from £900 to as much as you want/can afford. The specification is limited by your bank balance and imagination, probably in that order. .22 RF semi-autos are legal in the UK for target/vermin and whatever other application you can convince your local FEO is reasonable, and AR15/M4 variants are legally just another .22 semi. There are a number of suppliers of AR15 types, including but not limited to:

Bradley Arms

North West Custom Parts

Southern Gun Company

It is also worth keeping an eye on Guntrader: Guntrader and search for .22 semi-autos, the occasional V22 or Bremmer turns up there. .22RF AR15 types are great, although they may initially seem expensive they don't cost that much more than a competitive 10-22 when you consider that you throw most of them in the bin and buy Volquartson parts. AR15 rimfire types are very adaptable, most AR accessories will fit. If you have not already found it, there is an excellent .22 forum on this site: Rimfire Forum with loads of good information and photos.

Every major vendor has people who swear by them and others who swear at them. Phone or e-mail everyone who sells what you like the look of, get as much information together as you can and get your hands on a few examples to try them out before parting with your hard earned readies.

This is mine, built on a Tactical Solutions upper from North West Custom Parts:

It's brilliant fun, shoots and handles well, and I have the choice of iron battle sights, a scope, or a red dot. There is plenty of choice, you might have to wait a while to get what you want because most are at least partially made in the USA and their export regulations are a problem, but take your time, learn about them and then pick what suits you.

Good luck!

Welcome

Mines a double Lagavulin.... no ice.

.22 semi auto pleasure is full of goodness but costly..........especially if you go down the AR route...... it looks good, feels good but it's a lorra lolly to spend on a .22LR.

Where do you shoot, what do you shoot and why?..... This would give everyone a better chance of offering advice that is relevant.

RN sub has a beautiful pair of pimped up rifles there but you need to expose your bank account to some gunishment to get nice kit like that.

How serious are you about this and what do you have in mind?

i've got a V22 in a carbine format. Mine runs a treat with black dog mags , haven't had a stoppage in over 800 rounds using minimag & wolf std velocity fodder. I do keep on top of cleaning though which helps with reliability .

Had a stoppage on my lads today, not a failure to feed just a failure to go bang. I thought I'd better give it a clean since me and the lad had fired over 1600 rounds of CCI Standard without a single hitch. Cleaned it and then we got through another 400 rounds befor home time. Thumbs are a bit sore though.

followed the linky, see you got the 5.11 parka, good aren't they? I got the shorter length jacket, so many pockets keep losing stuff in it. Also makes a good summer jacket for when on the scooter.

If you want a 5.11 jacket try M&M Direct, they are up to 40% cheaper than on many other sites in the UK. The 5 in 1 and 3 in 1 Parkas are £78.28.
