Took my son to TCGC today. He had a rough week in school and seemed real blue.
Well the wind blew cold and the rain showered us a bit, but he had a great time. I brought out the 10/22 and re-instructed him on safety and operation, and then loaded it up. The spark in his eye flared up when he popped two bulls-eyes back to back. He then started popping a small pig target hanging from a "T" at 50 yds. I lost $2 to him from some of those shots. It was nice to see the confidence swell up in him, he smiled more and more.
I knew he was back to his old cheery self when he started trying for the 18" gong at the 200yd line. Good times.

Glad to hear you had a good time with your son, love hearing stories like this. I look forward to introducing my son to shooting when he is of the right age.

when did they put a gong out on the 200 yard range. They kept telling me it was a richocet risk

Black Powder range. Now open for rimfire, but only paper targets and hanging steel targets.
