RPK build my bro just completed, we didn't get to test fire it due to some slow delivery on the fcg,

the lighting in the pic doesn't do justice to the stock finish, don't know what the ingredients or exact blend my bro mixed up, but it finishes nice:

hell Dan I told him the same thing, but he said it was already broke in since it was a war rifle,

the bore still looks good, no pits and the lands are still sharp, the wood looked like shit when he got it, had a shitload of "notches" and carvings on it, it appeared the previous owner had been keeping score,

but he sanded all that out and put his custom colored finish on, and it looks damn good,

I AK poor and broke to boot right now, if DCI woulda had the RPK receivers back when I started I probably would have done one back then,

mine woulda had a club foot though

I know the feeling, Brother L! I've got too many AKs right now, gave 3 away to family, sold 1, and still have too many!
Two buddies were over the other night. I helped one put an ambi sling plate on his Colt M4. They were prowling arond in one of my safes and looking at the AKs.
One is a chief of police in a small town in NW OKlahoma and fairly young. He went nuts over the AK AMD pistol on the single point sling!
If he'd had the money, I would have sold him that AK pistol. More people go nuts over the pistol, then the folding stocks, then the standard AK.
My favorite is the SA 85 I built. I'm having a hell of a time putting on the windage adjustable rear sight on it though. That's the only thing I need to do to finish up my LAST AK project.

only thing holding me up on my 9mil ak project is finding a machine shop to turn the barrel,

I've called two in norman and they don't want to mess with it, so I'm gonna have to find someone in the city that'll do it.

There is a machine shop over off of Council and I-40 that might do it. The owner's name is Barry. I had them do some work for me a few years ago. Or Steve Baldwin over in Jones might do it!

You mean he didn't like the "Mungos" carved in the side ??? I thought it was kinda cool myself : ) The other kit I ended up keeping has even shitier wood if you can believe it, and the barrel was crapola, I ended up selling Big - E the best of the lot since I shelled the extra $150 and bought one of those new barrels from Copes. I think the red stain job he put on it looks freaking sweet though !!! Damn sure sets it apart from the cheapo looking yugo rpk Century is building up now. I saw a couple at the Tulsa show and they look pretty boring, no character whatsoever. Goooood work you guys did on that kit....man I am happy to see it actually in the shape of a rifle !!!! I gotta ask Big - E if that color is Rez-Red???: )
Good stuff brother, keep it up, can't wait to see the 9mm when (and I didnt say if) you get it done : )

no its too dark for rez red, rez red in more of a bright vermillion,

the kill sheet/lover letter look is out this year, I thought he was gonna have sand the stock down to tooth pick thickness to get some of the carvings out,

but it does look damn good, all except the paint job, told ez to use the sand blaster to clean it up and put some duracoat on it, but hell man, they ain't nobody ever complained about being shot with an ugly gun.

hey "c"   the secret to the rez -red tint on the stock  comes from the the red clay on the banks of lake dirty bird, be careful not to get on your clothes because that clay don't come out with out a fight ,or in your case if you are not  wearing any clothes don't get it on any thing else or your "boy" patrick under panties well be following close on your behind... i will stop there and not let the "cat" out of the bag.(lol) have a nice day "c"hock.gifhanks

like to say thanks to my brother ndenway ,he is the man with the plan ,when it comes to ak stuff .

no thanks nessessary man, I just held the parts, watched my fingers and provided comedic support,

you swung the hammer and fell through the floor, and that in itself was worth a lot.

To think I only showed him my first AK build in March of 2005 and then to know how many he's built (great quality too!) since is unbelievable. L is certainly "the man"!
Despite the Jack Daniels, Lucky Strikes, Coca-Cola, swinging his pork chop at loose women, and all the BS he puts out, he's pretty damn sharp!
He continually keeps me

Sorry....but it looks like CRAP! Stick a 75 round or a 100 round chinese drum in it....like my 75 rounder....and it'd look GREAT! But with that wimpy banana rama ding dong mag in it it looks a little too much like a chic rifle! BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

i started to at the swap meet ...... although it's a mouse  compared to 308

my whole problem with the ak thing is i'm just not that fond of the round ..... and it's so much easier just to have 2 basic rifle calibers to keep fed.....

If ak ammo was still 69 a k i'd still keep one around.......... fuck was we all stupid for not buying all we could borow money to buy back then

of course those were the same days when you could buy a k of 223 for a 100 at market hall  it depresses me to look at the cost of ammo now days.......

but i'm buying 308 every chance i get while it lasts.........

well thats true, I wished I'd bought the 223 kits instead of the 762s, I've got a passle of them laying around and only 1 mag worth of ammo for each,

I'm not buying any ak ammo either for a bit, right now I'm still trying to stock up on reloading supplies,

I got to buy some bulk .224 and .308 bullets, looking at getting the machine pulled ones at a cheaper cost,

I said I wasn't gonna buy anymore of the india 308 surplus, but the price is still $94/case + S&H when you buy 3K+,

I know people say its shit, but I've fired 4K+ of it and only had 3FTF, plus the brass is reloadable, it ain't great but you can't beat the price for blasting ammo,

and it did alright for me on the steel at the jtac shoot.
