I saw this interview on the German website Tagesschau.de. It's with Raymond Geuss, a Cambridge philosophy professor. He says that in the short term that the police will be able to quell the violence.
HOWEVER, the real problem is inequity in wealth (Thatcher's fault), and the solution is REDISTRIBUTION, "JUST" ECONOMIC STRUCTURES, AND HIGHER TAXES. Pretty much everywhere I look, op-ed pieces and other serious news outlets are discussing how the poor youths are so deprived of opportunity that it had to come to rioting. They couldn't possibly be rioting simply because they're a bunch of thugs and dirtbags.  |

They couldn't possibly be rioting simply because they're a bunch of thugs and dirtbags. we all know its nothing to do with inequity or being deprived of opportunity , they all had the same time in school , you are right , they are just scum and need to be treated as such . the plus side to all this is that the average joe is now seeing them for what they are and taking action , maybe some changes in the law will follow or maybe not  |

In the old days they sent press gangs around and shipped the wild youth off to the four corners of the earth to do something useful for the empire. Now they just pay them to stay home and sit on their duff. Which system is more wrong?
Is this all immigrants rioting or is this also native born youthful neerdowells? |

The solution is to have the rich and middle class move away and give over the whole city to those who are really entitled to it, the worthless government teat sucking losers. Then they can run it in a fair and just fashion. Hell, we are leading by example, look at the wonders that has done in Detroit.

There are people who are far poorer all over theworld who live decent lives and work hard to survive and better their situation.
The reason this scum were rioting is down to three things: 1) Lack of respect 2) Lack of discipline 3) Lack of effective deterrent. Having a ridiculous benefits system free living and no motivation to go out and do a days honest work are merely aggravating factors to those three fundamental failings.. |

It's the "rich" people who PAY for the "poor" to have free food, who PAY for the "poor" to have TV, and who PAY for the "poor" to have free/cheap housing. Obviously. |
