I went to Coppens in June, and I have to say, it was awful.
I am not being funny, don't get me wrong, I got to shoot handguns for the first time: a Beretta 92F and a Glock which was good.
BUT, I emailed about 6 months, and then a week in advance confirming the date, and that I could use any of the club guns listed on the website inc rifles. Yes, I was told, that is fine.
Turned up there on the day I had arranged to be told by Paul? that the range was busy, there was probably a 2 hour wait if I even got to shoot at all and that the chap who replies to emails should have told me all this as it was known it was going to be busy that weekend.
He also told me no photos were allowed. I had looked forward to a little vid on Youtube I have to admit, but hey.
I was a little peeved to say the least having driven about 150-200 miles out of our way to be there and then being told I might not be able to shoot. We hung around, then about 30 mins later they said they had a lane available for me if I was still interested in shooting.
Great, what rifles do you have?
None I am afraid, only Pistols......
Bit of a let down considering their logo is an AR15 and there are pics on their website of the club rifles and an outside range...
Well, I shot a couple of pistols as above had fun blatting away, and then went to pay.
Before I had got the two pistols I had asked the prices of the ammo and although the prices escape my memory now, it was about 12 Euros for 50 S&B 9mm. I had had 100 and was told that the range fee was 30 Euros. I had worked this out to be 55 Euros, and gave the chap a 100 Euro note. He faffs around trying to find change, in the end getting it from the bar. He gives me back 15 Euros and a few coins. When I queried this he said that the ammo I had bought was not the 12 Euro stuff but more expensive as the 12 Euro/50Rnd stuff would not cycle in the semis despite it still being 115grn? S&B??? So why tell me the price of it as you hand it to me along with two semis!!!!
The whole experience put a crap finish on what was an otherwise great trip round Europe!! And needless to say I won't be rushing back there anytime soon.
