You could have done that any way. Threaded pistol barrels are not affected by the AW ban or the NFA.

Thats not totally true. MAC's, an TEC-9's were specifically named. If that is the sort of pistol your asking about, then yes you will be able to put a threaded barrel on them in a few more days. As far as I know, all the other pistols were ok before.
