Went through all the AR picture threads. Only thing I found was

I am looking at the aimpoint replica that got some good reviews here, comes with the cant. mount. I was going to pick up a Z mount for the carry handle and mount the aimpoint over the front hanguard so it would co-witness with the front irons.

Does this not work? Is this why I dont see any pictures or info on this? 98% of the pics on the threads are of flattops

Any help would be appreciated.

Beacause no one would be crazy enough to do something like that! It's an A2 for heavens sake!

Seriously though....#1 get a good mount for it....not the cheeze cheap mount....go PRI, ARMS, etc, if not you WILL lose your zero all the time then the scope is worthless. You can find good deals on these mounts used do to people going to the A3 upper.

Tacpoints are the only aimpoint knock off I would get....it's still not an aimpoint and the more I use one....the more I love my aimpoint.

*Cry* I want an A3 now. I guess I was looking for an A2 in the beginning because well being the n00b that I was before I bought one, I wanted the typical carry handle one because to the n00b eye it sticks out.

Well, think of it this way. Keep your A2 as the stock 20" iron sighted GI machine.

Then, get yourself a 14.5" M4gery with 10 pounds of electronic crap hanging off it for a good fashion statement!

In all seriousness though, I've got my scoped 20" FF A3 that's doing pretty damn well as a varmiter. I'm buying one of the Bushmaster SEBRs for a good price for a shorty. I'm keeping it light, but am putting an BUIS and EoTech on it.

Well I think an M4gery is a bit out of my reach at the moment. Wife as well won't let me buy any more rifles. So I guess Mr 12Ga. and Mr. Saiga are going to be up for sale. Snag a full 16" A3 Upper and swap off, and a bit down the road I'll get a lower kit for the A3.

You can always get a 14.5" + pinned FH/MB to be legal as well. You can also swap out the stock and buffer and ta-da...new rifle.

Just buy a complete M4gery upper and then a stock later down the road. You wouldn't have a new rifle, just a few more accessories.

A brand new A3 upper is $100, the A2 is worth atleast that.

Even trade, there you go.
