Could be trolling.

I posted from Trinidad and Tobago for a while, when I fancied a holiday, and my time zone was Hawaii for ages (until GB did his stuff). He might not be here but from here.

Anyway why hasn't he come round and said 'hello'? Or brought round a pie?

Take a look at the photo pinned thread, I've left one in there.

Just did a search on his user name going back 3 months.
He appears in 19 different message threads, all about Surefire's.

Haven't got a clue who he is.

Wonder how many Brits are actually registered here

yes.....

I did a search last night on his name and nothing came up, not even the post mentioned at the start of this thread.

I didn't realise I was of "interest"!!

I guess you'd like to know two things - Where I am (and perhaps where I'm from), and secondly, why am I here.

Where am I?
I am currently living in Hertfordshire.

Where am I from?
I was born in a hospital about 2 miles away.

Why am I here?
As some of you have noticed I have posted on this forum on the topics regarding SureFires and SureFire. I only really take an interest in the SureFire-related discussion (which has me confined to the Lights & Lasers Forum until now)

Guess what one of my interests is?
Yes! And the other is SureFire(s)
I have been fortunate to become friends with Paul Kim at SureFire. I have gained a good level of product knowledge with his help, and have a few SureFires too.

I've only once purchased SureFires in the UK and was 1998 or something, and rarely purchase SF123As - one of the things I bend the ears of SureFire about is the huge costs involved in purchasing and running SureFires outside the USA.

Why would I be "trolling"?
Not to worry... Anyway, Google "Size15s" and see what you get
Also, check out:
www.pk-e.com
and:

My name is Alastair (aka Size 15's)

I'm sorry I've not got any pie.

Hey welcome aboard.

We're a small community over here in the HTF and are nosey as hell.

Where in Herts are you? I'm in E Herts near Stortford.

ETA: edited cos I still can't spell
ETAA: So Welwyn. (I followed the link to your homepage). do you shoot? What and where?

Can't believe you've been here 4 years and we haven't bumped into each other

Mark

ETA, where can I get cheap batteries
Link Posted: 8/14/2005 1:41:24 PM EDT
Excuse my ignorance, but "ETA" means estimated time of arrival to me.
What are you lot taking it to mean?!

I only use SF123A or DL123A batteries. I try to 'steal' as many as possible when I visit the States (though this is mostly once a year for the SHOT Show). Otherwise I've got a few friends who forward me batteries. I go through stages where I use a couple of my SureFire M6's a lot - them be thirsty lights. This year so far I've been more calm for the most part. I used a whole SF72BB (72 SF123A's) over two nights in February though

I'm in Welwyn Garden although I work in Stevenage.

So what are you lot doing here?
I wouldn't expect much access to AR15-type firearms in the UK right?!

Al

ETA - 'edited to add'

it's a bonus for bad spellers as the spellchecker isn't working yet

Do you know where I could get some good lights, and what make would you recommend?

I have a surefire G2Nitro. for the belt and a big Tracer for the bunny bashing. I have an 'A'series Surefire Fore-end for the AR carbine surplus to requirements.

I'd have to disagree actually, I think Mark is the biggest Gucci kit whore.

No doubt, innit.

I used to have platoon Sjt (yes, thats the right spelling for RGJ) that had a para helmet, watch that read altitude, chest rig, danner boots, para smock and all that stuff.
Mind, as much as a gucci kit whore Mark is, he can use it. My Sjt was a fat lump regardless...

Hey! Steady

James,

Those are old photos - I've got about 60 SureFires now... I think (need to take a new photo and count 'em).

As for the WeaponLight suggestions - I need to reply to that later.

And if you do google Alistairs username, you will find that he seems to be pretty much the best authority on Surefire the UK has.

Right, I think there is more than a few people in the UK forum that would be interested in finding out where to get G2 nitrolons or 6P's with Z32's and some form of weaver rail mounting.

For example, would there be a US based dealer that can supply all and export to the UK?

Streetfighter, will of course be wanting a dedicate weaponlight or an M6 as he's a whore.

Dave

I think it would be easier to communicate with SureFire's UK Distributer to order things 'like a group buy' or something. If you check out BritishBlades.com they have a good relationship with the people at Edgar Bros.

I already have a D2 defender, but I'm not interested in weapons mounted lights. They serve no purpose for me. When I want to go lamping, I already have a big Lightforce as well as a motorised remote-control rotating and swivelling thingy, as well as a couple of those big yellow 500,000cp hand-held lamps. And the Landie has a couple of 100 watters up front.

Still, you're most welcome here Big Al.
I wouldn't mind a P90 lamp though

Yep, when that thing's rotating, I look like a lighthouse

You'd love a HellFire unit mounted on your RC rig - the beam from that thing has to be experienced to be believed. I mean, I thought the Beasts were bright...
