Yes, it's true that we hope our children do well for themselves once they leave the nest.  The way I look at it is we have 7 - 10 years in which to install moral standards in our children.  After that, they will either be great kids or a pain in the ass until they day you die.

That depends on why they are gathered. If it's the general monthly meeting for ISM supporters, I say have at it. If they are gathered for a memorial for one of their group members, then it would be crass and out of place to show with the cat hats. The Challenger astronauts were in service to all mankind and the nation and died a horrible accidental death, not at their own choosing, nor their own hand and not by their own choice.
