I called them yesterday to get their FFL sent to orion-arms, so I can purchase an etched receiver (my 'keep virginia zombie free').   I got an e-mail last night, orion-arms says the numbers are smudged, and Whittail outfitters didn't bother to send their own fax number or contact information so the dealer could fax them back, or contact them.

*sigh*

Today, there's no answer at Whitetail outfitters, and no answering machine, either.

Damn I lived in Riner for three years and did not even know there was a gun store.     If Lin was still in Radford you could use him but I don't have a clue who is left now.    Is there still a store in Christiansburg between 104 and 108?   That guy might do it but he was on the crotchety side.

Whitetail is closed on Wednesdays...... I'm currently waiting on my FFL so that I can open my gunsmithing shop in Willis. I will not be doing any retail transactions. Heard that Harkrader is being forced to close his business, Buds Gunshop is closed, Joe Kirk is not doing well health wise....not too many shops around.

When did Bud's close?

I drove by Whitetail today, and saw the sign that said they were closed on wednesday.

I was concerned because there was no answer/voicemail on the phone.   I wasn't certain if they were closed, or if they just weren't answering the phone because of all the wierdness lately.

I'll try to contact them again tomorrow . . .

All turned out for the best.  Today I went in, my upper had arrived with eotech sights, along with a RRA lower.  Filled out the paperwork, chatted about dog collars.  Swapped concealed carry permit info with someone (pointed out the value of the Florida non-resident permit, and most of the steps to get one).  Found the Taurus 94 (22 revolver)  I was looking for, for my wife.  Filled out paper work again, submitted again, while waiting for that to go through, an out of towner came in and was asking for directions to blacksburg.   They were trying to get to a Church service.   I gave them directions, gave them my local county map,, and ended up driving them (they followed me), through the 81 bypass 'mess', into blacksburg, and dropped them off on the street at their church.

Somebody just got an M-4 upper with quadrails, and RRA tact mount, and FHM flip up front sights.   Now I'm off to find the 'Keep Virginia Free Logo'

Never had a problem with Daryle,  good guy.  WTO isn't an EBR store, but you can't  beat the convienence, at least I can't.  I drive by there everyday.

Had no idea Bud's was no longer in business. When did they close. I know the one time I tried to go there the door was locked but I figured it was because it was a few minutes before 4:30.

I'm kind of new to the area what are some good gun shops? Any with holsters?

Not really.  Most of the gun shops here in the area cater to hunters so it is hard to find tactical gear around.  I just order it over the 'net and if I don't like it stick in on the EE and take a small hit on it.
