I'm trying to set myself up for purchasing a couple of Garands from the CMP but do not belong to any programs .

If I have to join one, I would like to put my money where it is needed.

What can you guy's suggest ?

Have a look here.

ETA: USPSA is an affiliate. That's how I'm getting mine.

Sorry Delta but I don't have a clue to what you are reffering to. The link sends me to the CMP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS page and there are no specifics to the USPCA you mention.

Help me out and give me another link....

The Linden GC has a highpower league that if you shoot in the John C. Garand match qualifys you to purchase rifles from the CMP.

Sorry 'bout that. USPSA is short for United States Practical Shooting Association.
USPSA is the US region of IPSC, the International Practical Shooting Confederation.

It's great fun (I call it 'golf with guns') and it squares you away for CMP buys.

Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association is an affiliate. I took my intro to high power class through them and got my 50rd fired to qualify. We did the class and fire at Ft.Custer.

www.garandcollector.org

I am a member of the Ohio R&P Association, and that also works.

Garand Collectors Association. Signed up when I went to buy my Garand.

ETA: $25, paid when I went to the CMP and bought my Garand. Easiest way to do it. A photograph of me in a competition was all I needed to meet that requirement.
