I'm in Overland Park and prefer going to Concordia, in Mo.
I've thought about joining Powder Creek, but I don't think they allow steel plates, potatos, shaving cream and soda cans, or watermelons.

Powder Creek is pretty strict about their range... only 1 bullet in the gun at a time, only can shoot at paper targets from a concrete benchrest, etc.    Ridiculously expensive ($150/year + $5 every time you go shoot) and the people aren't friendly (or maybe they didn't take kindly to young folk such as myself out there with scary looking assault weapons hinking.gif )

I've heard awesome things about Mill Creek, never shot there myself.  The Bullet Hole is nice for pistol stuff.

I live in Leavenworth...  Parma Woods - most often; Mill creek - monthly for club shoot; Bullet Hole - rarely...  I heard there was a range in St. Joseph area - anyone ever been there?

I live in Leawood by Watts Mill. My business is in Olathe. Ive shot predominantely hand guns at the bullet hole off Robinson and once and a while at Powder Creek. Now that Ive got an AK and an
AR Id like to do some "Civil" shooting at a range I dont get to go to the friends quarry enough.

My best advice it to hop on 435 head towards Lee's Summit, take 50 past Warrensburg, and go north on 23 Hwy, by Concordia. About 10 miles or so north, you'll pass a public range. You can go monkey nuts with your evil assault weapon there.
There were some air-force guys there last winter, and we all unloaded with AR's, AK's, Mini-14's, and even a mini30, all at one time, for about  a minute straight at one point. People in that area love watching that kind of shooting.

Are you talking about the little range that goes out to 100? Kind of secluded in the woods there in the low lands?

That's where I go all the time because I can't find a decent range closer that doesn't charge an arm and a leg to shoot.

That's the one. There always seems to be good people there too. I've shot many a thing that i would never have shot just by asking strangers "what's that you've got there?"
