The Pit is there to resolve conflict, have rulings,etc.

1) When can we expect mark larue to be held to the same standard as everybody else? 2) When can we expect 1GR back? 3) And when can I expect to see a resolution to the pit thread regarding getnlwr and myself? I have sent IM's to several people including you Ed, and have not heard a thing back other then "Take it up with Ed Sr.". I understand that it really is a personal issue between getnlwr and myself, and that it's long and difficult to read, but trial by combat was called for and eventually agreed to and he never put up a decent fight. Seriously? Ed- Up front is the fact they're both good guys, as much as ML's done globally, 1GR has done locally. Quite a few guys have asked for your intervention at this point, and from what I have read, it has every appearance of you pawning it off on one of your Staffers, rather than get involved in the controversy. I can understand you not wanting to loose ML's support for the site, since he often appears to be a touchy SOB when his ego is damaged. On the other hand, this is your site, NOT his. PCR's post was spot on. I can also understand the need to take the ball away from Steve and let him cool off a bit, since he does make incursions into NoGo areas. What I didn't see was 1GR tread into that NoGo terrain, unless I missed an edit. V/R- Matt |

Steve is GoatBoy's friend Steve is my friend But none of that gives him the license to troll anyone and interfere with the operation of the site. Family included! My own son (Edward) broke the rules inadvertently a couple of years back by posting some BOTD in GD. He heard "plenty" from me AFTER I took down the violating pictures.......and he is the person who CREATED the site! I am NOT "pawning it off, so I don't have to get involved". That is another example of talking nonsense when you don't have the facts! 
As a matter of fact: -Steve was locked by a senior staff member for trolling -Staff member asked Steve to give his word he would comply with the rules -and was warned, with my full support- that he would not be unlocked the next time if he broke his word -Steve replied with a "not so nice" email that showed little intention in complying -I INTERJECTED (in their corresponding) an email to Steve letting him know where I stood, what he did wrong, and what needed to be done (give his word) to get his account unlocked. How is that for "not wanting to get involved"?

Mr LaRue posted a couple of pictures and 1GR had to go troll his thread asking if the fences were high, the bulges in the pants,etc I don't think making the comments 1GR made -totally unprovoked- are going to go well, no matter who he trolls. 1GR happens to be a friend. But I am the kind of friend who willl rather tell you himself that you are being an ass, than allow you to continue acting like a jackass. Ask Steve himself This often happens. Someone gets locked, and while the issue is being worked out, others add fuel to the fire (which help no one) and they get locked themselves. Then the person locked comes out and the others have no way back because they burned their bridges 
Like in real life, the best advice is to let people involved in a problem resolve the issues. It might be fun to yell from the sidelines to encourage others to fight, but it never ends well |
