Well, I imagine a RINO isn't going to push for any new gun legislation, but would sign it if it crossed their desk.

I fear Hillary would be pushing for it.

First, I'm not sure she will get the nomination.

Secondly, even if she does, I'm not convinced she will win. The media may be trying to anoint her, but Obama or more accurately, a "black" candidate is throwing their liberal positive discrimination for a loop.

Even if elected, she needs a huge majority in both Senate and Congress to get anything like another AWB through, and she may not get that at all, even with a Democrat majority as many of the new dems were pro gun and anti AWB.

Hitlery is at least somewhat a political pragmatist and my guess is her "hillarycare" and other socialist agenda items will be more important than trying for a gun ban that she knows caused her husband and party so much grief last time around. I'm not saying she won't try, but I think she has other fish to fry first.

My worry with any Democrat is more how badly they'll screw things up with a massive income redistribution package consisting of moving money out of the hands of the upper middle classes and to "the poor". The uber wealthy will be unscathed as usual.

Fear rolls off the tongues of many, must be just rumors and speculation...

Big +1.

Weapon bans have more hurdles (especially if the Supremes land on our side) than just tossing in another few percent of tax to pay for someone else's food so they can instead buy more cigarettes.

Think she would use an exec-order to implement a AWB?

my guess would be that they would bury new anti-leg somewhere in some random bill, no one will see it until it is too late.  Either that, or they will just erode the 2nd little by little and do it in ways that the NRA is OK with so as to not really raise a stink.  Then we will have to have NFA to own a single shot BB gun.

I see the worst case scenario being a full nationwide enactment of the current AWB bill that is foundering in the Dem-controlled Congress.  You can see the details here.

Basically it would be a Kali-style AWB enacted across the land.  You personally could keep the semi automatic rifles you have, but no more could be sold (even between private parties) and they'd all have to be registered.

For the practicality of enforcing such registration, see Canada.

Personally, I think Obama is more electable than Hillary, and quite probably more electable than than any of the RINOs chasing the Republican nomination.

For that reason. I hope Hillary gets the Democratic nomination.

That said she was unelectable when she won her Senate seat - twice.
She had all the baggage, Bill's troubles fresh in everyone's minds and was an obvious carpet bagger. So she has a history of beating the odds.

So I also hope that Bloomber decides to run as an independent. He would (IMHO) get very few R votes, but probably enough to destroy any chance for Hillary.

Whoever get into the office will be only too glad to sign anything that the (presumably) D congress wants to throw their way.

Economically the next 8 years are going to suck.

Anyone here old enough to remember the 1970s?  I was just a kid but even then I still knew is was a miserable time in America.

High oil prices, the middle east laughing at us, rising inflation.  Sound familiar?

Meh, they all suck. However Obama's wife did see the value in owning a firearm for personal protection.

I was in the middle east then so I missed most of it.  I definitely DO NOT want to be in the middle east during the next eight years.

No. I had just turned 3 when the 80's arrived.

If the SCOTUS has our back, I can ride out the storm.  If not, the suck is coming.

Did anyone else get that email about Obama?

"So the point is, though, we should be able to do that, and we should be able to enforce laws that keep guns off the streets in inner cities because some unscrupulous gun dealer is, you know, letting somebody load up a van with a bunch of cheap handguns or sawed-off shotguns and dumping them and selling them for a profit in the streets."

Wow...just wow.

Rather than worry what might happen, a better approach would be to get the things you've always wanted (within reason), join a pro-gun organization or two (GOA, NRA, etc...), and let your so-called representatives know your feelings on the matter.

The worst thing would be a new ban where you aren't allowed a magazine over 10 rounds, period.  That would mean no grandfathering of your 30 rounders.  They could probably pull that off.  I don't see door to door raids to take all your guns away happening any time soon.

My two cents worth...

I foresee door to door raids.

They have learned their lessons on what worked and doesn't work.

So could they possibly ban the use of pre-ban 30rnd and 100rnd mags? Should we be buying spare beta-c mags just in case?

for real, thats what I'm worried about if sh|t every really hit the fan. I think the 1st step of their evil agenda would be to disarm america. If that did ever happen, I can say that I won't give up my guns easily. I don't care if John Rambo himself came to my door to pick them up

If you allow a vote to take place and allow enough anti-freedom politicians to vote in favor, then the battle will be lost. A law will be passed, and it will be enforced. The general public and most gun owners will comply. Tyranny will come creeping slowly, but it surely will come.

Of course, there are many ways to prevent anti-gun politicians from voting for gun-grabbing legislation. One way is the ballot box. Those who have read "Enemies Foreign and Domestic" will know a few others.....

What gets me is a president takes a oath of office which states they will defend the constitution

So to vote for someone that is for gun control or any anti constitutional right is to vote for someone who lies under oath.
