...So I go in the GI Joes in Issaquah today to pick up some more 9MM ammo for my Bobcat and Beretta for this weekend (couldn't make the "Fun Show" cause I was out of town) and I'm checking out. I bought 2 packages of the 250 round "Mega Pack" and a couple T-shirts. They guy puts the T-shirts in a bag and I start to grab the ammo (which weighs about 4-5lbs per box). This says "I'm sorry sir, but you can't carry the boxes out in the open, you need to put them in the bag"
I said "Why?" He says "Some people get really offended by seeing the ammo out in the open"
After I stopped laughing I asked him if he REALLY thought his flimsy little plastic bag would hold up. Then he said "Well, just hold the bag from the bottom"....I looked him in the eye and said "you must be kidding me" He said no. Then I laughed and said "Its a SPORTING GOODS STORE for Christs sake!!!" I told him if he really felt compelled he could call the Issaquah police and let them deal with the matter. I then picked up my ammo boxes and walked out.  I am STILL WONDERING WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BS WHIMP SOCIETY THE P.C. LIBERAL CROWD HAS TURNED WASHINGTON AND AMERICA INTO.....what a complete JOKE!

At least they sold you the ammo-- all the Fred Meyers I've been to for the last couple of years have almost completely halted any ammo sales, and have totally stopped selling guns. They used to have great deals.

This makes me wonder WHY the gun counter guy carried 3 $50.00 boxes of Remington .375 ULTRA MAG up to the front of the store for me...
Was he afraid I'd steal them?
Or, what?

I think I'll go buy some more ammo at G.I. Joe's just to see how they handle it.

September 20, 2005.

Same GI Joe's.  (Gilman Blvd., Issaquah)

Take my two bricks of Peters .22LR over to the cashier chick.  She opens the brick to pull out a single box of .22's and scans it with a quantity of twenty.  I know this is S.O.P. since the brick won't scan and the individual boxes are on sale this week for 79 cents.  She let me walk out of this store sans bag and wished me a nice day.  Looks like you were waited on by an asshat, Hogan.

Guess you're just a hop, skip and a jump the the Everett Big 5.  I was wondering why everytime I go in there the staff looks so haggard.

Welcome to the Eastside SEATTLE area.............our own little Southern Kalifornia.

Hey scrun....fixed it for ya.
(1) The Eastside is FAR MORE conservative than any other part of "Queen" County
(2) Northern California (other than So Cal Hollyweird) and the GAY BAY are where the anti-gun nazis are.

Haha its just mostly Highschool kids and maybe some college kids working there.  I'm sure they know no different even though that rule is pretty rediculous. There is a shooting range right behind Issaquah Highschool. You can hear rounds all the time from there. You would think there would be an uproar with something like that so near to a schooL! lol...

I was at the same store last night stocking up on some shells.  Didn't have a problem.  Of course everybody knows that 9mm is MUCH more offensive than 12 gauge!  hinking.gif
